Getting started? The best way to get started is simply to get started.

I'll give you a very brief rundown on how to get started:

    - Find a niche you're passionate about
    - Research your niche to find a potential market. Find out what they're looking for, any problems they might have or problems they're looking for solutions to.
    - Create a product or service based around those problems that offer solutions.
    - Create a website based on that product or service.
    - Learn Search Engine Optimization, the ins, the outs and how to obtain quality backlinks from authority sources.
    - Post on relevant forums, get on a marketer's joint venture list, do some PPC campaigns, etc, to target traffic.
    - Build on your business and continue to grow!

I've been working on some ideas to help out very new marketers, including an app to add odds boxes directly to a facebook page in 2 clicks, and share in the commissions.
It's still something of a work in progress but i've created a facebook page about it for the time being.

More generally though, it's all about having something people are interested in paying for, and then finding those people. Be useful first, then figure out a way of profiting from it.

    Hi Elliot,

One of your posts has a reply saying something along the lines of you need to know what customers you want.

The internet is a huge place, You can sell information products to all sorts of people in all sorts of niches.

You have to find a problem first then you can go about creating a solution. It is ok if you do not know how to create a solution, if you have an idea you can get it outsourced i.e. have someone else make it for you.

    Does this make sense?

Once you do that, you can then come here and tell others about it!

You don't necessarily have to go out and find a problem, though that does help lol but if you know of common problems anyway that people have then thats a starting point!

        Elliott,

Do you have any skills right now?

What do you enjoy doing online?

Consider business models before finding or creating products to promote.

        Hot businesses right now are....

        -Mobile apps

        -Kindle publishing

        - Provide a service to other Internet marketers such as blog writing, website design etc.

        - Local business marketing

I could throw in affiliate marketing, network marketing, get paid to programs and so on as well.

There are many ways to make money online right now. This forum can help you learn how to do any one of these and make money with them.

My best advise is to take one form of marketing and get really good at it, in other words get results before you attempt many others

Well, for me, it works like this:

    1. Find your interest, your passion, a topic of interest.
    2. Build a blog and write your passion there.
    3. Place an advertisement in there, and you are good to go to the next level

    Hey elliot,

I can definitely relate with you on that feeling. It's tough when you first get started as there are so much information out there, much more than what your brain can process.

I've been there. I've wasted time searching for that "magic button" solution to my business but let me tell you this: there's NONE. Stop wasting time looking for it and get to work.

If you are just starting out, I recommend doing these:

    1. Sell your crap on eBay. It's easy and it's good to know you can earn money online. This will boost your confidence (especially the sales confidence inside you)

    2. Offer your service. Do you have something you're good at? Setting up website? Writing? Proofreading? Anything? If so, you can earn money by selling your service at outsourcing sites like elance.com, fiverr.com, odesk.com or many more.

Basically the 2 key ingredients here are: add value and work hard!

You should read a good course on getting started. Also be sure to use the "search" function on this forum.

    Unfortunately- there's no "best" strategy.

I take that back- the best strategy one that is proven and you can follow through on

I understand where you are coming from, Elliot. The abundance of information can paralyze you!

But, start with one thread....what can you do? Find other threads, and research, research, and research! Make research your job until you find something that you like.

Then, do it. But don't stop researching! Learn and do! Learn and do!

It's what you do when no one is watching
that determines what you will be able to
    do when everyone is watching.

    Hi Elliot,

I suffered the same overwhelming questions when I first started. I also did not find the warrior forum for a long time so be thankful you are here with that questions. You are in the right place.

I guess to answer your question I would have to ask you a whole lot of questions.
    1. What is your experience?
    2. What do you like to do?
    3. How much time do you want to dedicate to this?
    4. Have you built a business plan?
    5. Have you searched here on the warrior forum to get an idea of the various business models available?

Answer these questions and spend a week doing some research here on the Warrior forum and you will have your answer.

    All the best.
