Lamb.es - BBQ Lamb chops anyone?

Hey Peeps,

I've had this domain for a few days now, after getting inspired by Rons Beef.ca domain.
Would like some thoughts on the domain and what you guys think I should do with it.

Thanks

That'll be a tough sell. The Spanish word for lamb is el cordero or carne de cordero. That would be easier to sell, except that Spain isn't noted for lamb or meat production in general, with the exception of pork.

Their main export has been olives and olive oil. They have a large amount of land in vineyards, but aren't noted as being high quality wine makers.

They produce so little meat, that they import meat.

Pork was Spain's most important meat product, and the number of pigs grew from 7.6 million in 1970 to 11.4 million in 1985.
I've seen a lot of spanish domains sell for a high price when the keyword was in the native language - Spanish.

That's a pretty cool domain. However with the localised nature of the domain you might find it hard to rank naturally for english users? I'm not sure this is an area of SEO I've not done a lot of research into.

For novelty value I think it's pretty cool though, you might get a lot of shares and viral buzz around it if you can create something funny or weird on it.

Interesting thoughts guys. Even though I agree with you sbucciarel, I still think that because of the brand-ability of the domain it should be something sell-able. Checking out other domain sales on Sedo shows me that this domain could get a descent amount of dough considering i only paid $15 for it. But then again, it's all about finding the right buyer for the domain. I'm in no rush.

I like petemcal's idea of using the domain to create a viral/weird/funny website. If anyone has an idea and wants to work with me on setting something up just let me know. I don't mind sharing the revenue if the site is successful.

      Any other thoughts guys?

I think that the localized domain for Spain will be quite an obstacle to overcome. Since it is an English word and the original Spanish word is "el cordero"... Not that I'm saying it doesn't have a potential...
