The rising of mobile marketing tide...

With the rise of the use of tablets (such as the Apple iPad and the Samsung Tabs) and smartphones, it is imperative that as internet marketers, we need to take action to catch the wave.

Just check the traffic stats to my sites. 20% of the traffic are coming from smartphones and tablets/mobile devices.

Have you taken action yet? If yes, do share what kind of actions you have taken?

    Just a quick stat I heard somewhere....

    By the year 2014 more people are going to be using their smartphones than their PC's to surf the internet...Kinda important to make sure our sites are "mobile friendly"

    I recently looked at some of the figures of smartphone usage and was surprised to see the country with the highest smartphone penetration was UAE and equally surprising was that Japan was fairly low on the list of developed nations in their smartphone usage.

    I'm working on getting my site "mobilized" (for lack of a better term). Mobile marketing is very prevalent, and it's something that all internet marketers should prepare for and jump on to.

      This may be our current habit but as we move forward, the way we surf the net will change.

      For example there was a time where many of us would lug around our heavy laptops everywhere we go, either for business or leisure. Today more often than not, the laptops are gradually being replaced by tablets such such as the Apple iPad or the Samsung Tabs.

      And we see PC manufacturers hedging their bets by betting on both sides. They are also introducing tablets. And they are making their laptops lighter and thinner by introducing their range of UltraBooks.

      So it is still anyone's guess on the movement of the market. But I am betting that it would Tablets and smartphones in the not too distant future.
