Whats a good conversion rate for ebook traffic

Greetings,

I was wondering what a good conversion rate is for a website selling an ebook?

Over the past week I have had around 400 people visit my site with only 4 people buying my product. 100/1 conversion rate.

That depends on a myriad of factors such as your market, product, sales page, traffic sources, etc. There is absolutely no way to answer this question unless you post more information.

its an informational product ebook, the sales page is ultra simple, and the traffic source comes from youtube and from google. (No paid traffic)

For some websites, a 1% conversion ratio isn't too bad.

It'll also depend on the price of your e-book. Naturally, the higher your site is, then you'll get less of a conversion from organic traffic. If your site is targeted through e-mail lists, then yeah 1% is extremely low.

Since I getting that traffic organically and not through email list or paid traffic

Do you think the next step would be to just increase the traffic to my site through paid traffic.?

Or trying to collecting people's email and improve the quality of the site?

You're not currently collecting e-mails? I highly recommend you start collecting e-mails and building a list of targeted people to sell crap to. Of course and to offer them newsletters/tips/freebies just to keep them buying crap.

I have my give-a-way product on the warrior forum and in jv give-a-ways and it is converting at 23%. However, it is free with targeted visitors and only used for listbuilding.

    Hope this helps

1% sounds pretty much right. Will flucutate in different niches. But just take the customer and start making more money from them on the backend.
