PR is useless

After browsing the domains for sale in DP folder, I can say that PR is getting useless and I think can be faked. I just don't know how. How can a domain that was registered last August 12, 2012 has PR4, PR5, or even PR6 with only a default wordpress hello page and zero backlink? And it's just not one... There are too many of them.....

      I hear they redirect it to a good domain and after a pr update they remove the redirect and the new fake pr sticks with this domain so even if you check it with fake pagerank checkers it still shows up as valid.

      Usually I only buy domains with strong backlinks if you check dp buyers selling domains with strong backlinks will put it in the subject line.

        Me too, I do not buy domains with less backlinks or domains with high PR but have good content and internal links.

    Actually PR is not useless they are still one of google ranking metrics, but not as important as 5 years ago.

    Those faked PR domains or websites usually do 301/302 redirect to websites that have high PR.

    The fastest way to check if the pr is faked is do google search using site: command if google shows different site or domain in the result then the domain is 301/302 redirected.

    Wow, i didn't realize that a website that young could have a high PR, but it does show that the website is trusted by having very good backlinks.

    PR, in general, is not useless. Those domains that have fake PRs are the ones that put a bad value to PR. Thus, it always pays to do a sound research when buying domains.
