The Amazon Method - Need Help

GGPaul posted a thread about waking up at 5 in the morning and seeing results and I was highly motivated.

I tried searching amazon for stuff like mitre saws, cameras etc.
Basically stuff I know about ...

but I keep finding either the product owning company ranks the top 5 sites or theres too much competition in adwords ...

Is there any advice from any one on what to do further from here ?

Look for related keywords. Or you can always try making youtube videos and see if you can get them ranked or if youtube generates traffic and sales.

You want to find products that have good user reviews on Amazon, it doesn't have to be in the top 10 or so. There is no point in writing a good review for a product, only for the reviews on the Amazon page to basically rubbish the product. This will lead to terrible conversions.

GGPaul is using the strategy that I taught him. When using this strategy, it isn't important to outrank anyone as long as u hit page one. By targeting low comp products, you can usually rank on page one with no manual backlinking efforts.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from popular products. Everyone and their grandmother is promoting them. Go where others aren't.

Wolf, I recently bought your Blue Print and just started a site yesterday based solely on your method. I found a good niche and actually have a few others on the back burner. Im looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Hopefully my next post is about all the money I made!

People are saying that with Google shopping now being implemented it will make it much harder to get organic traffic to review sites. Do you see that having a bad affect on traffic?

People who are looking for reviews, although ready to purchase, are not looking to buy a product just yet. They are looking for reviews to convince themselves to buy.

I assume most of my traffic has already been to the merchant I am promoting. The only reason the visitor is at my site is because the merchant didn't offer enough in terms of product reviews/opinions.

Until I see something concrete, I'm not going to worry. If I do notice issues, I'll do what any good marketer will do - adapt.

Use other methods to drive traffic to your site. You dont have to be limited to just SEO.

If u offer quality content, this strategy lends itself well to repeat visitors and very good referral traffic.

My advice is don't be afraid with competition. My mentor said that "Keywords are like lottery tickets." It doesn't matter what your initial picks are. Find all you needs, put them out there, pick the winner and ramp it up!

Same thing with products. You'll never know which one will sell. Just throw them out there and see which one sells and pound really hard on the one that sells.

As Randall alluded, try other methods to drive traffic to your site. For example, many of the higher end/competitive products may be more effectively sold by driving targeted traffic through other channels such as email promotions, article syndication in relevant online/offline publications, social media, offline marketing including telemarketing, direct mail, newspaper classified, magazine display ads, flyers, radio ads, direct sales, etc, to name just a few.

User reviews are everything, although it has been proven that a HUGE amount of the reviews on amazon sites are paid fake, so you should be very careful about what sounds genuine. Instead of searching for random products performing well, I suggest focusing on a particular niche, so that you may focus your efforts to sell to a very targeted audience, and get a better conversion rate.
Personally I prefer ClickBank, I have written a free eBook which can teach you how to make the easiest commissions of your life. The Warrior-Approved thread is linked in my signature if you are interested

You can use PDF, video, and maybe email marketing or solo ads, not only SEO. SEO is nothing, sales and commissions are the most important.
