A Question on Interlinking

Home page links to article.
Article links to itself using article keyword.
Article links to home page using article keyword.
Article links to home page using home page keyword.

It seems redundant for the article to link to itself yet many suggest this, if you also suggest it I suppose using the Wordpress title() link would do the trick.

Suggestions?

I suggest not over-thinking it. Google doesn't like sites that it feels are "overly optimized". I would just focus on publishing quality content, and a lot of it. Preferably 3-4 posts/articles a week.

Appeal to humans first, and the spiders will follow!

      This is great advice.

Rich, multimedia-filled, oft-updated content is the way to the top of the google search rankings.

Thanks Steve, yeah I know with Penguin I have to be careful about over-optimization.
But on the other hand google LOVES well interlinked websites.
I am wondering if this is considered "well interlinked".
I guess I can do it 2 different ways on 2 different websites and see which fares out the best

I will use the Related Posts plugin on Wordpress and it does the trick.
I think interlinking means manually linking you relevant content. But beware of
      over optimization penalty.
Agreed. The plugin I use is called "Yet Another Related Posts Plugin".

Since we are on a roll here, here is another related question (Yet Another Related Question) coined !
So as I don't have all the time in the world for this experiment, I will do it both ways but let me ask.
Do you prefer article topics to be garnished from the Google instant results or the related searches ?
