Consider this situation:

Let say I had found a FREE ebay store wordpress plugin on the internet.
Which mean that I can create ebay store using that free plugin.
And I want to make a report and sell it online.

Unfortunately,

There is one guy who had already made same report and sell it online.
But I'm not sure whether the plugin he used is just the same as what
I had found. The result might look the same but I cannot confirm that
he is using the same plugin as what I had found. Because I don't buy
that report.

What if,

I continue to create that report and sell it online.I never buy his report,
but I can only guess whether he is using the same plugin or not.I'm
not sure what he write in his report.

Is this legal?Am I stealing his idea?

Thanks warriors

Azim - If you are talking about writing about the same subject - of course that is legal. We would have very few books in the world if we weren't allowed to write about the same subject as anyone else..... it is only illegal if you use his actual writing. Look how many vampire stories there are....all very different - but all about vampires. Make your report fresh and original - make it better than what is already out there. You are trying to establish a name, so be excellent where others were just Okay.

If you do a right click on an open space on his website, then 'view source' you should be able to see what plugins are in use on the site - then you'll know the answer about what plugin he's using.

(also good when you're trying to figure out how someone has put a page together)

As already commented, you can write about whatever you want, no matter how many times it been covered, just don plagiarize someone else s work!

You might not be able to sell the "free" software as it is probably protected by the GNU.

If you want the skeleton for a product a good way to start is with PLR - just go to google and search 'free PLR XXXXXX (XXXXXX + whatever the subject is) - you're sure to find something.
