Do you have conversions from Twitter?

Maybe it is just me, but I found Twitter to be completely useless as everyone seems to be auto-posting or spamming their own programs so no one is really reading what anyone is saying.

I find that many people DO read the tweets and links. But my goal is not conversion - my goal is to get them onto my website and impress/engage them there.

This is what can happen if all you are following are IMers.

t reminds me of some networking groups where all you have are people walking around handing each other business cards and they are not even reading the ones they get, because they are more concerned with how many they are giving out. And they are all convincing themselves they are making good contacts, lol.

It's not that Twitter is completely useless. It's just that like any other traffic strategy people are finding ways of abusing it by spamming.

Now, you can choose to drop twitter all together, or you can start unfollowing those people who you feel are auto-posting and spamming you.

Start pruning your twitter followers and who you follow and build a better quality list.

My sense and experience that while Twitter can generate traffic, it typically has a very low conversion rate. Not sure how tweets that mention domains influence organic rankings though...

It depends on what you are selling.

I have a micro jobs site where a bunch of sellers are selling twitter followers. We sell dozens of twitter follower packages every day.....

So yes, I get a great conversion when I advertise this on twitter

Yes, twitter can be profitable once you have these 3 ingredients. 1st, a audience that you grew that followed you, 2nd, using the softsell approach, 3rd engaging and offering advice through conversation with a recommendation to what you're talking about. For example, instead of saying, "Make $300 today, new program" use "My friends are really doing well with this and paying off some bills" That get's more interest and people can relate to that
