    Maybe you are are asking the wrong question! Especially as you forgot the most important step.

    1. Research your niche full and thoroughly.

    If you get that right then you won't need to ask the other questions

    3 - The problem is the failure to acknowledge the logic on why people buy. A lot of people implement methods like it is some sort of game without using their marketing common sense.

    Let me add something to that.

    1=build a website
    BONUS: Consider if it is designed well enough to get people's trust and get them to buy from your website.
    2=write review
    BONUS: read your review to see if you (yes YOU) will take out your wallet and buy once you read it. If not, then something is wrong.
    3=build up email list
    BONUS: Take care of your list. Don't send products which they don't need and if you can stop sending solo ads, stop doing it. Build it up with a good freebie that generates trust so that they will buy from you.
    4=drive targeted traffic
    BONUS: but give them a reason to stay on your website. It has something to do with design and appealing to their desires with an inviting headline. Once you get them with the headline, provide more information that will get your visitors to trust you. Only then will they buy.

    2- You don't have to worry about competitors if you do your business right. If you offer better information than your competitor then what's there to worry about? But if you are just going to create a review website that is similar to all the review websites out there, then you will probably have a hard time. But if you are going to build your own community on your niche, then you'll see higher conversions.

    1 - you can start. You'll only know what will happen once you test it out.

    Hi ImStillNewbie

    You are doing everything right, but there is something more.

    Why they should buy from you, not from the others? Hmm.

    Let see it through your own eyes as the customer.

    You will on any website and why you do not buy their stuff? But finally you buy from someone!

    Question is WHY?

    I will tell you why I would buy from someone!

    1, I will go on the website and I will see there is a lot of content. No Banners, popup, no HOT BUTTONS like buy now, no adsense ads.
    2, I will bookmark it because it is not guy who want to sell something.
    3, He just is cool guy who give me a lot of content for free, I can use it now and I honest person like him.
    4, If I like him I trust him
    5,If you trust him, you can believe him to buy any products, because you know that it will help you and it is priceless.

    So how to do it?

    1, Build community on your website and help the as much as you can.
    2, Human nature works for everybody, help them and they will like you a lot.

    Now you can sell them your own stuff and charge more than just for one ebook, because they trust you!

    It must help you now to move forward!

    You left out one of the most important steps: finding LOW COMPETITION keywords that get decent traffic for your target niche. Next, find exact match domains. Also, another missing step: filter internal traffic. Finally, you have to funnel your mail traffic to get a decent ROI.

    1=build a website - does a newbie knows what to build and how to do it?

    2=write review - does a newbie knows how to write a review, what product to review, what niche?

    3=build up email list - does a newbie knows how to do it, where to start, what mailing list provider to use?

    4=drive targeted traffic - now here's the easiest thing to say but most difficult to do

    (type of product that im promoting=truth about abs) - highly saturated with the highest competition (not recommended for most)

      The truth is you can't succeed in competitive markets using the same marketing methods as the competition. There are hundreds of ways to market such products, but most essential is the source of traffic. First target your prospects in online/offline venues they visit and in publications they most likely read. You're not going to get much (if any) convertible traffic for "truth about abs" just with SEO or even a review site.

      All I know is if you are trying to promote 6 pack abs it's probably going to be saturated. Try doing some more research on your niches.

    Seems like you picked the product first instead of the niche. Revise your entire marketing campaign, and see if you can operate in a lower competition niche than health and fitness.

    Your order is wrong.

    1.) Build squeeze page
    2.) Build list from squeeze page
    3.) Promote more the ONE offer in that niche to your list.

    That's it.

    People fail because they don't know how to drive that targeted traffic you mentioned cheaply enough to make a profit... or if they're using free traffic methods, then they fail cause they don't drive enough traffic to make substantial sales. So that's definitely a key part of the equation, the most key in my opinion. Learn that part before you even contemplate beginning.
