Can we PLEASE revisit the .co discussion?

I am sure that this has come up time and again here with the influx of the new domains. I have read an article here and there, but it's deep into 2012 now and I'd love to hear thoughts from Warriors about the .co domain indexing issue.

So, let me frame this - assuming there ISN'T the .com available, and with all things considered, can you get a .co domain to compete with a standard(ly) built .com.

Is it really JUSt about content? Or can one or more of the new 'Authority' programs possibly be the difference maker?

Do any of you think (or have tested) the solid authority strategies for any of the non .com domains?

I'd love to hear your stories...
