...What should come first for an article? EZA or your blog?

Hi warriors,

I keep reading contradicting advice about this, could someone explain if indeed there is a 'correct' answer...

So I am writing an article.

For maximum SEO effect/exposure etc - should I:

1. Submit to Ezine Articles ONLY
2. Submit to other article directories as well (or will EZA then ban me)
3. If I can submit to other directories - should I do this AFTER I have submitted to EZA - or is doing it at the same time ok??
4. Put it on my blog as well?

And could I also ask please - if I put it on my blog - should I

a. Do this after a few days/weeks AFTER I've submitted to EZA (just so EZA feel they got it 'first') or doesn't that really matter
b. Do I have to re-write my article for my blog

Thank you all.

I have searched WF for many posts about this - and some advice seems to completely contradict others - so I appreciate there may not be 'an answer' - but I wanted to throw this out there an ask....

Luv,

    Hi Jenn

    How are ya?...

Here's what I do with ALL my content.. it has worked wonders for me over the years.

Submit the content to my own sites/blogs first

    Then submit To EzineArticles

Then create a squidoo lens from the articles, expanding on the topic to give a more in depth chunk of content for a lens.

Then mass publish EVERYWHERE... using a service like iSnare, AMA.. or something of the sort... basically an article submission service.

I am not saying this is the best way for everyone, but it works fantastically well for me in driving the maximum amount of traffic from each piece of content, and backlinks too

    Peace

  • I publish on my blog first. Then, I submit them to EZA. They dont care that it is the same article, as long as it is yours and not PLR.

Once EZA gas approved it, I rewrite the first paragraph and title, and mass submit the article to other directories.

This works pretty good for me. I write one article, rewrite one paragraph, and I submit away.

    Hope this helps!

I agree with Jay, Charles, do you change title and first paragraph because EZA flagged you for content? Just wondering as I haven't changed content and have heard nothing negative from them...

No, EZA doesnt seem to care that the articles are already live on my blogs. I do not submit the articles to other dirs. until EZA has approved them. So no, EZA doesnt seem to care.

I change the title anad 1st paragraph to give it a little more uniquness. Really I do it so the articles floating around dont look exactly tlike the articles on my blog. But keep in mind, I only rewrite the title and paragraph once - regardless of how many dirs I submit them to.

With PLR, I do the same thing. I post it on my blog, but rewrite the title 1st apragraph and last paragraph. It might just be me, but I think it helps the SEO by doing it like that.

How does EZA knows that it is YOURS site or blog ?

That's a great question. I guess when they check, they only see it in one place - my blog - and no where else so they figure it is my work.

  • Always put content to work on your website first -- your own presence should be your priority.

Here is the way I see it. As a matter of fact, this just happened to Raydal.

If you put it on your blog first, and somebody scrapes it and doesn't include
the resource box, you won't be able to submit to EZA as they'll say it's not
      original.

If you submit to EZA first, it doesn't matter if somebody scrapes it afterwards.

You can still put in on your blog.

Anyway, that's the way I've always done it and it's the way I always will
      do it.

Ultimately, you have to do what you think is best for you.

Actually I've had articles approved by EZA then scraped. EZA has emailed me with the url of the scraped article and told me I either have to get it off the scraped site or they'll delete it. And they have.

EZA has also found the articles on my own websites and asked me to prove the sites are mine. Usually I have my email contact on the site which makes it easy to show the site is mine.

What they may do is check the first sentence of the article in Google and see where it shows up, or if it shows up.

    Hi Jenny!

I just posted very similar questions in another thread, and here's what seemed to be the consensus:

    - Submit to EZA 1st, and you can either submit to other directories at the same time or wait. The benefit of waiting is that EZA won't stumble across your article elsewhere and question if you're the original author -- however it seems that most folks have been able to submit the exact same article to EZA and a number of other places at the same time and not have an issue.

    - The article should be on your website as well, but there does seem to be a dichotomy between WF members who think it should be on your website first, vs being submitted to EZA first. A way around this is to write the article for your website, then rewrite it for the article directories. That strategy seems to be the norm, but I'm just going on the responses that I received.

I hope this helps! Onward with the article marketing! :-)

    Jenn,
Here are my answers in response to your questions above. The only represent my view and what actually works for me.

1 - if you are looking for maximum effectiveness you should never only submit to EZA however if you expect to achieve maximum results you will always need to include EZA as part of the main directories you submit to.

2 - Yes, you will want to submit to other directories. You have several chocies here as you can go for a mass submission approach or a slightly more refined version of the top 10 - 20 directories. Best advice here is to find the directories that seem to work best for you and stick to submitting to them. EZA will not ban you for submitting your articles to other directories.

3 - If I intend to submit an article to any other directories besides EZA then I make every attempt to rewrite the article and use that version leaving my EZA article as a sperate article. Currently they are the top directory (in my eyes) on the Internet and because of that I treat them differently from the other directories by affording them special rights such as their own article (linking back to my website of course). The other version that is ditributed to the other directories can then be used to link back to my EZA article helping to increase its ranking in the search engines.

In the event you plan to use the saem article then I would recommend you submit it to EZA first and wait for them to approve and publish it before submitting elsewhere.

4 - You could use the article you submit to EZA on your blog but truthfully, why do that when you can create a new version that you use on your blog. This becomes especially powerful because if you have the plugin for your blog that automatically tweets on twitter you can get exposure for the article on your blog while at the same time if you have a different article that covers the same keyword phrase submitted to EZA you can also have that automatically tweet over at twitter so now you have 2 unique articles covering the same keyword phrase receiving double exposure at twitter. Clear as mud right......

As you can see, I'm a strong believer in rewriting an article if I intend to use it on my blog, website and EZA.
