Blocked: Why don't I want to write PLR?

I am not sure why, but even though I am qualified to write PLR articles (I've been writing online content for my clients for years and now do the same kind of work for myself...) I don't! Each time I sit down to create a PLR pack or two for a WSO I just don't do it!

I can't figure out why the blockage. It seems like a good way to make some extra money while my IM business is growing. I've pretty much stopped writing for clients. I guess it's possible that I burned myself out writing articles for others and am looking to do my own thing.

What I can't figure out is - it seems relatively easy to do so why am I so resistant? Has this happened to any other writers turned IMmers?

Because there's a certain amount of risk?

PLR's may or may not sell, so you run a risk of not getting much out of writing them. I did a few packs of articles last year as WSO's, and while the first three sold out the last one didn't sell a dang thing. The difference being that the first three were on a topic that was hot and the fourth being on what I thought would be an evergreen topic.

That said, the risk is actually pretty negligible - there are always other ways to use unsold PLR stuff. But it's one reason why doing PLR work is generally lowest on my writing priority totem pole.

I have to agree. There is definitely a certain amount of risk involved in writing PLR, especially if you sell by the pack. If you had a membership site that was making you money on a regular basis, it would be different. Otherwise, you could be writing something that sells little to nothing.
