You broke the rules, end of discussion.

If you hadn't have broken them, you'd still have both your badge, and earnings. Now you have neither.

I guess you can only learn from your mistake in the future.

I don't think he read the entire post lol

If he did, he would know that your intention of this post is so that other people could learn from your mistake that you obviously took responsibility for. I don't know what that's about either.

          Josh,

I don't really know you that well, so don't take any of this personal. But he simply posted a thread with his experience with fiver. He explained why he got banned, and warned other to be careful so they don't make the same mistake he did.

He understands that he broke the rules, there was no discussion to begin with. He understands the consequence of his actions. He has learned from his mistake (as far as I can see). He's simply trying to warn other people so that they don't make the same mistake.

If you're going to post rude comments, why bother posting at all? Just keep it moving.

Whoa, whoa - Calm down people.

I was simply replying to a thread. What I meant in my post was you broke the rules, you acknowledged that you broke them yet you still tried to contact support to get your account re-instated (which they did, temporarily).

So even after you've posted that you are now happy you are no longer using Fiverr, I doubt that this thread would have even been created if they left your account open.

What I was trying to say was that you knew you broke the rules, so why would you continue spending hours talking to support trying to get back your account, EVEN THOUGH you already admit to breaking the rules.

I know a few people who make a living off of fiver, without working like a slave. It's all in the approach.

Depends on what your gig is. Mine is simple copy/paste to fill orders. Takes me less than a minute. Easy money. But I agree with you that some people are offering work that is a real backbreaker. If you have level 2 and up, you can do ok even then with gig extras, but in the case of the op, losing level 2 is pretty much a death blow.

I do agree, but what amazes me is the # of users they manage to acquire given that many gigs are simply garbage or hit and miss. I read somewhere that they have around 1000 new gigs posted a day.

    This is what i did...

I messaged 10 clients on Fiverr(FIRST TIME) to tell them about my webinar that is obviously not on Fiverr. I made the biggest make by including a special offer outside of Fiverr. For this...i had to pay the price.
Sorry to hear this happened to you. Obviously they try to keep their customers and don't want to lose them. There are some people on Fiverr who have innovative ways of getting and keeping in touch with past clients without getting in trouble with Fiverr.

I know this because I am on the newsletter list of one of the Fiverr vendors. Basically what she did after delivering the gig was to ask if I would like to sign up for her newsletter to find out about other services and special offers she had. She has a list of several thousand people because of this.

Fiverr can be a real drag, with clients expecting far too much for just $5.

I offer a few basic graphics services on Fiverr, such as making vector images, belcher buttons, and guarantee certificates (I have a software program that lets me create a nice guarantee certificate in 5 minutes, for example). Now if the gig only takes me 10 minutes to deliver, then it's worth my time.

However, I had one guy yesterday who asked me to vectorize a massive image using the highest quality filters possible. It took my machine about 30 minutes to complete the process, then I exported in the correct file formats etc. I "completed" the gig and he just turned around and said "oh sorry, it's not high enough quality"...

Moral of the story - Fiverr is great if you can complete quick and easy gigs that don't require any form of customer service. Otherwise, it can be a real drag.

Now if you come on here and say you have banned yourself lol.

LOL!!! Troy had a good suggestion. I would actually recommend it. If it worked on fiver, it'll work on your own website if you promote it the right way, and you can charge a lot more than $5 if you prove that what you do is worth more that what someone would do on fiver.

Fiverr sucks big time and sooner or later will go south burning. You did the right thing. If you have other alternatives of income (as you do) no brainier. I feel like doing it the same way you did. It will be a great show I got level 2 100% feedback.

Fiverr is like bums on a cruise vacation to me. All they had to drink before was cheap beer, now you serve them champagne.

Yup, no one is important to them. They don't even care if you have sent them thousands of visitors whatsoever. Just imagine all the new gigs being made every sec. They can shut down all their Top rated sellers and still rake in tons of cash.

Don't know if this helps, but my company hosts an account there for new leads, basically, and maintains no levels (ie if they "promote" you, turn them down and keep a basic plan only.) This works much better and has much less fraud risk and bulk orders from nutcases. Seriously.

Also, it slows down orders so you have plenty of time for other marketing and better paying jobs and work elsewhere. You don't want to make Fiverr a full time "job" at those rates and with that type of serious "support" structure.

They can have good support there, don't get me wrong. But I've seen an ugly side as you describe there with many Fiverr sellers (find lots of posts about this type negativity all over). So staying basic and foregoing their advanced levels helps best - with stress, workloads, too much low-paying work for your company, fraud from people ordering bulk & then getting their work and running, blackmail with people wanting premium work or threatening with thumbs down, etc. Lay low, mi amigo You are actually at a good place now, sounds like

It's my Pleasure. I'm glad you UNDERSTAND the thread. Some people obviously aren't reading. They only read the negative part and can't wait to get their signature seen...I could be wrong however but you take it easy now.

They could have gave you a chance... We are humans and mistakes happen and since you were reputed you deserved a second chance... but in many of life's situations there is NO SECOND CHANCE

We should learn to move on.

They took away my Level 2 Seller Badge today!

Why, because i broke their rules...

    This is what i did...

I messaged 10 clients on Fiverr(FIRST TIME) to tell them about my webinar that is obviously not on Fiverr. I made the biggest make by including a special offer outside of Fiverr. For this...i had to pay the price.

Moral of the story, be cautious and don't think you deserve 1 chance! You get no chances some times. Every action comes with consequences.

I have tried chatting with their support for hours to reinstate my Badge and messaging privileges and here's what happened next.

I told them about my excellent 100% ratings and all that. I told them to check their records and they will find out that this is my first time sending such messages. Finally, they GAVE ME BACK EVERYTHING last night but they took everything away this morning again and left me an email this morning saying their final decision was to take my badge away.

Then i realized, fiverr was only making me about $15 - $40 a day max and the support i have to provide is a waste of time. It all depends on the Gig Actually. Mine is to Rank Videos on the First Page of YouTube for a Keyword for $5(conditions apply obviously) Overall, not worth it for me. I make much more money with my other online businesses!

This morning, i told their support to shuff the badge up "you noe what" because they were messing with my emotions.

I've been consistently very nice and humble to people for years ...And this time, i had to go out unprofessionally. Don't you just hate when things are out of your control ? When i was talking to the guy on Fiverr this morning, my blood was boiling! In my crazy mind, i was just wishing i could snatch the guy ride out of my computer screen and "just talk" to him...lol!

Just waiting to be banned now! No regrets whatsoever.

Thanks for reading my true story. Please be careful and don't repeat the same mistake i have made.

I guess i'm going to get some laughs in now...putting the movie "anger management" on!
Sorry to hear about that, Prem.

Most of the freelance sites are real cranky about any kind of contact with clients outside of the site, and they've seen all the tricks sellers use to pull conversations offline in order to deal "under the table".

But you don't seem that upset about it, and you shouldn't be - now you can go elsewhere and start charging what you're really worth!

Don't let anyone sell you short! Get what you deserve!

I hear you Prem... And it will actually work against Fiverr in the end... People make mistakes sometimes (even sometimes without knowing it) and if there are no second chances, in the end the boss will fall on his face... I don't say Fiverr made a mistake by taking your badge, I say they made a mistake in not hearing you and giving you the benefit of the doubt... Anyway, my 2 cents...

For sellers, Fiverr should be renamed to threedollarnintytwocentrr

after fiver fees and paypal fees you earn 3.92 per sale. and that money isn't available to you right away. Use $3.92 in your decision whether your services are worth making a gig for.

Also, you have to wait 14 days after the gig is complete to even transfer to a linked paypal account, or to use your money within fiverr.

I did make the mistake when I started on Fiverr of messaging some customers about new ebook packages I uploaded that related to what they had purchased from me. Lost my level 2 immediately. But I contacted support and told them I'd broke the rules in ignorance and didn't really see it as spam when I sent the messages and could they reinstate my level 2...about 10 minutes later I had level 2 back.

Well, thanks for sharing your experience, but yeah, when participating in these services, one has to walk on eggshells at all times, to make sure that some rule is not broken. reason they have these rules is that there's all these people out there that are not very good at following rules...
