How on earth do i upload files for download?

ok i really need some help b4 my laptop is forced to grow wings...

im trying to upload an mp3 file to a webpage so that people can download it.ive zipped it up but have no idea how to do the next step...

how do you get it so that when you arrive at download page, you see a message which says click here to download? do you need to enter some sort of link? or hyperlink or and do you have to upload it to that specific page? example www.mysite.com/download?

    If I understand correctly, you would need to hyperlink it.

    for example, <a href="http://www.domain.com/file.zip">Click Here</a>

    Upload the file into the same folder as the page with the link and you can call the file like this as well.

    <a href="file.zip">Click Here</a>

    Yes you need to have alink for people to click on so they can download it.
    Name the link the name of you download.
    Exp.
    www.mysite.com/download.zip
