If you are starting with social media as your traffic source, I would recommend you using Facebook, as it is the world's biggest social network. When you master one traffic source, move on to another...

Set up both, you will probably end up using Facebook more at the moment, but the Google + profile allows you to claim authorship and other Google goodness.

Yeah, I noticed that. Looks like it makes your site look cool if it shows up in google search results. Better get on that.

But yeah, fb seems to be the way to go. If I was forced to spend only time on one place for social it would be FB. That could change though.

Yes, definitely Facebook. Not only because so much more people use it, but also because there's a difference in the demographics. Google+ seems to be more of a tech/nerd hangout (not that it's a bad thing). Also, FB has a great advertising platform.

If you're looking to funnel more traffic to your landing page, Facebook hands down.

  • Blastincome,

Both Facebook and Google Plus are great for marketing however you might want to consider where your target market is. It doesn’t hurt to develop a strong presence on both social networks however if you find that more of our market is on one than the other, you may want to focus more of your efforts there.

This site gives a pretty good comparison of the two,

Facebook & Google Plus: Marketing Features Comparison -Social Media Marketing, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn & Pinterest Marketing - Business Online 360

The fact that this page even exists should also answer your question,

Google+ Marketing (Google Plus) | Facebook

    Hope that helps,

Facebook is easier to use, and more engaging. Not to mention more people are consistently logged on.

Not saying that you shouldn't do both, but I would focus on Facebook first.

I use both, and, for my business, I'm finding that Facebook is much more responsive than Google+.

It seems that, for every 1 visitor I get that has a Google+ account, there are 100 who are using Facebook instead.

So, I definitely push Facebook instead of Google+

    FB is my first choice.
No sign of traffic from +Google.

  • Bottom line, both.
But you really need to focus on the message and audience.
Just putting up a post "Get my new product" will get you buttkiss on any platform.

FB gets a big + (pardon the pun) for it's advertising platform.
Disruptive marketing works or they wouldn't be offering it right?

But campaign management I give Gplus the nod.
Example, we posted a small free book, not necessarily an infobook but an engaging topic.
We were able to track those that downloaded/clicked and moved them to a direct marketing circle that we injected offers into those posts specifically for them.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me, or check out or new product release.
