A Great Resource For Finding Niches And Getting Ideas.....

Hey Warriors,

A fantastic resource for generating niche ideas is none other than.......

<Drum roll>

Entrepreneur Magazine! For example, this month they have an article about young millionaires where they profile them and talk about their businesses. But what I really like about this magazine is that every single month there are stories about people who started their own businesses, sometimes in the most obscure markets!

Entrepreneur Magazine | Entrepreneur.com (no affiliate link)

They even have a tablet issue. They also profile success stories in some of the most boring, mundane markets such as selling light bulbs, jewelry made from cockroaches, light switches, mummifying dead bodies, and so on an so forth.

Most bookstores and news stands carry it. If you're looking for niche ideas, this is a great resource. I mean going to Discount Magazine Subscriptions & Deals | Magazines.com or Amazon.com: Online Shopping for Electronics, Apparel, Computers, Books, DVDs & more are good resources too, but this magazine uncovers niches I would have never thought of! (There are no affiliate links here).

Another thing you can do is go to any search engine and type:

"niche ideas"

And you'll find a bunch of websites that already give you niche ideas. Some of them will even e-mail one niche idea per day or per week.

Another way to find niches is to go to any search engine and type phrases such as:

"How do I.....?"
"How to cure.....?"
"What do I do if.....?"
"How to.....?"

    Thanks for the write up!

I've also been checking out Forbes for topics as well, not necessarily for money niches but alot of their articles have to do with things involved with making money.

Thanks, Rod. That's a really useful tip that I hadn't heard of before. I will add it to my arsenal. I knew about magazines as a source of niche ideas but the idea of this specific magazine is totally new to me.

Forbes is another good resource. I pick it up from time to time. There are also a lot of "home based business" type of magazines that you can go through, though be very careful with these.

Fast Company is another good magazine to look into.

You're welcome. What I really like about Entrepreneur magazine is the biographical stories that they do. Not only can you get great niche or market ideas, but many times you get to see what they did to implement those ideas.

Love the entrepenuer magazine idea, strangley enough I have read it every month for a couple of years, but I've never though about using it for research - will have to start doing that, the ideas are already flowing through my head.

    Cheers Rod.

I can relate Ryan, I must have read it for 2-3 years before I realized that I wasn't using this as a niche resource. They have no shortage of entrepreneurial stories. Some sub-niches that are really obscure can be turned into great businesses.

Annually they put out the top entrepreneurial companies and you can look into each of them and see what they do. I mean, they had this college kid who started a company based around light switches and he turned it into a fortune.

I also like how they showcase companies who use a hybrid model, combining online and offline methods to produce some powerful synergy. I think their annual subscription is like $12. I spent more on pizza and beer yesterday watching the NFL games!

Another excellent resource I use for market research is dummies.com

Seriously, these guys are no dummies when it comes to covering the most current and lucrative niches.

This website is packed with not only a broad spectrum of niche books, but also tons of subject ideas.

Nice, just what I need... more ideas!

What's up, buddy... or... is it Mr. Traffic Viagra? You need to get in the porn market with that tag.
