Good job getting the traffic. From my experiences traffic from Twitter has a terrible conversion rate.

Hi missed great traffic numbers, well done!

Looked at the site and to be honest people can just go straight to Amazon and purchase from there.

Twitter is a case of lots of traffic but it isn't that targeted in most cases.

You need to drive targeted traffic that is already interested in what you are promoting.

Look at finding "Buyer Keywords" in Google and try ranking for them there.

At least the traffic you get then will already be looking for a discount, review etc of that product.

Good luck and hope this helps my friend!!!

A lot of factors are involved. The quality of your landing page, the need to purchase your product as compared to competitors and so on.

I'd start measuring various techniques and perfect from there.

Most buyers are perhaps waiting for Amazon reviews of the product before making a purchase. Article write-ups in relevant online/offline publications and press releases (prweb.com) are effective in driving targeted traffic, especially for new product releases. Include information about new product versions, accessories, competitive features, comparisons, etc. Try to capture email address for updates/conversions when the product(s) are expected to be released. Users of previously released versions of Kindle are preordering now!

Thanks for your replies , I think seo for new kindle fire HD related keywords would be very hard as giant tablets webmasters compete with it strongly so my chance would be only traffic from blog commenting and social bookmarks , anyone agrees ??

your english and grammar on that site are horrible! no wonder you are not getting any clicks. when i read the first post about Android and ice cream i thought "spinned article" and wanted to leave.

Well, i think it is hard to get some quality traffic from twitter since they are better for list building than for direct sales froma amazon.

Your problem looks like the traffic source.

If you look at your analytics you'll find that the majority of twitter traffic for most niches is from mobile divices like smartphones, pods, pads etc.

This traffic does not convert well if you try to send it to amazon.

HOWEVER, if you try adding some kindle related CPA offers you should find that you start to get a few conversions from your targeted traffic.

But don't remove the amazon affiliate links altogether, because you if you keep adding content you should see some organic SE traffic (particularly if you have social activity) at some point and that traffic should convert if you're ranking for the right keywords.

It means that the traffic is not targeted enough to generate sale.

The more targeted the traffic is the higher the conversion rate will be.

As others have indicated, I would expect the conversion rate to be extremely low on a newly launched product. Simply because you're going to have tons of people simply looking at the new products. Lot of "tire kickers" and very few buyers initially.

Nothing wrong with sending traffic (regardless of how poor the traffic source is) to copy. However, the you might want to change your approach and send them to your capture (squeeze page) and then work on them in your LIST.

As an affiliate the kind of traffic you should be sending to your affiliate link should be traffic you have already presold to or have built a Relationship with FIRST. You will find that this traffic will convert a lot better.

    1. your site looks like you're trying to make a sale.
    2. you don't have a .com
    3. you're competing AGAINST AMAZON!!!
    4. you need to cloak your affiliate links. Amazon is too big, they will go straight to the main site (Amazon.com) if they smell a presale or affiliate link.

With some changes it can be a good market, I wish you luck.

Yeah, 32 clicks on your links does not mean anything. You need BIGGER number because at the end of the day, it is all about the numbers.

You also want to get these people onto some sort of an opt in list because once you start getting a consistent amount of people subscribing to it on a daily basis, you can make money on auto-pilot.

Keep at it and don't stop. Once you start getting more and more visitors to your site. you will make more sales. Again, get a list going.

    Hey Missed,
Congrats on the traffic, it's a shame there were no conversions.
I can suggest that you have more obvious links to the buy it now area, and also you might as well hyperlink the images which aren't already to redirect to the amazon sales page, that should help you increase conversions.
I wish you all the best with your online income success.

  • 1 Have a great looking website to earn trust.
2 Never expect sales on blog spot. Buy new domain and hosting.
3 Twitter can send traffic but conversion rate is terrible.
4 Bring traffic from SEO or PPC. They have highest conversion rate.
5 Offer something really really valuable. So people buy from you.

It's got nothing to do with it being on blog spot. It's due to the traffic quality (Twitter). Why would blog spot have anything to do with lack of sales? The visitors are buying from Amazon not blogspot.

@missed. Id recommend putting the Blog archive at the bottom of the blog. Being on the left just makes the blog look more cluttered and isn't necessary.

The use of two banners which are both visable above the fold screams to the visitor that your trying to sell something. Id remove the top horizontal banner then use a more stronger call to action via text links in the content. Plus work on improving your title. It looks way too plain.

    A) I wouldn't panic seeing only 500 visitors. You'll need a lot more traffic (think thousands) to make a better determination of how things evolve. Very your traffic sources and try to target as much as possible.

    B) You'll need to install some analytics and do some a/b split testing to increase your conversions (not sure if you can do it on a blogger blog, haven't used it in a while.)

    C) Start targeting variations of your keyword displayed in your analytics.

It's a process and once you repeat it, you'll get better and faster.

    Adam.

      I would panic as well.
In my own experience blog doesn't sell that much, but, it is good thing to get a list of people interested by your review. Those guy who opt-in would more likely buy from if you work them well.
I had a similar experience then it change when I put an opt-in form.
also get Google analistic to see what is the bounce rate of your website so then you know if people stay long or not.
if not it might not be what they are looking for. ( That can be the kind of traffic that is coming to your site as well.)
You got to engage them as much as you can.

      respectfully,

      Domi

Ok. This is a little "black hat" advice....maybe just "gray hat"...and maybe purple hat or pink hat....hell, I don't know....so many hats, and none of them fedoras, so I'm not really interested....

These people are likely buying...some of them...but what do they need you for? See? They'll just go to Amazon in their browser and to hell with you. Get me?

    So.....

    Grab this....

    Covert Cookie

Reviewing products usually means there are one or two things that aren't so good about the product. This is necessary for presell as I shows you are unbiased.

I would highly recommend gathering emails first. With a list you can worry less about your traffic and more about building some trust.

  • Congrats on the traffic numbers. That's great. However, the English on your site may signal red flags for most people, especially since they are not familiar with the site. In addition, they can just go straight to Amazon to buy the device.
