IS IT GOOD BUSINESS??????

I remember when there was this phase on the internet that businesses would sign you up for free. Then they would check your box for reoccurring billing for you, and then they wouldn't give you a refund when you said

"Hey..... I don't want this and never did". They would claim it was company policy to not give you a refund. Just because you didn't use our system or even look at it does not entitle you to a refund. So I get both side of the coin. I am just wondering what others think about this.

If you buy into a monthly services and do not use the product should they keep the money or give it back to you?

I am very interested to see what people have to say about this. I am sure there will be only 2 extreme sides on this one.

If you don't use the service it doesn't matter, you signed up for it in good faith and the vendor has the service available.

It's the same with people who buy products like ebooks or courses, up 90% or more do nothing with it!

Did you really just say that most people will do nothing with it, and that you are ok with taking $50 a month for something they are not using. You are aware that people are coming here for hope. That is what leads a great many people IM. Right or wrong it is true.

You being ok with taking money from people who don't know they are paying every month in any dollar amount is a predatory behavior my opinion. That is not good business !!!!! That is scamming people, and praying on the peoples ignorance. How is that good for anyone other than yourself?

I was taught that good business is providing a useful service that people need, and making sure that they know full well what it is they are paying for, why they are paying for it, and what your service provides for the price.

Get paid for an available service? Not a service delivered? Why won't my boss pay me to be ready to go to work?

    I am a bit confused.

Are you asking us, if someone knows that they are being signed up for monthly payments for a membership of sorts, and they agree to it, they make a conscious choice, and don't use it, they should still get their money back?

    Or

Are you asking us, if someone doesn't know they are being signed up for monthly payments, and they don't use whatever those monthly payments are for, so they should get their money back?

    I am confused.

Because in your initial post, you make it appear that you are talking about someone who doesn't know that they are being charged monthly.

But in your second post, you are implying something different. You are implying that if someone makes a conscious decision buy a product and even if they choose to not use it they should still be able to get their money back.

    Which one is it?

In the first one I was asking about when you are signed up against your knowledge. The second one I was replying to the fact that I don't personally feel the same as the person I was replying to. It is really quite simple. If you read both posts you will be able to see that one is a question that is asked clearly, and the other is a difference of opinion.
