kindle marketing / publishing question

hey guys,

i was wondering for when developing your ebooks for publishing on kindle....what is the best category for automotive / vehicle type books


amazingly..unless ive totally missed something, i cant seem to find our narrow down that category at all inside the kindle specific sub categories???

here is an example of something i'd do when am talking about ebooks regarding the autmotive category...(not exactly) but for talking sake

"How To Stop Your Mustang From Over-heating"...whatever! thats from off the top of my head..randomly lol

    The category selection in kdp while publishing does not match the public categories exactly. I have no idea why this is. You'll also find that over time, your books may rank in a category you did not select. I assume this is part of the internal workings of Amazon's search and ranking system. Pick the closest categories you can, I'd guess consumer guides for automotive, or maybe self help. As sales start building, the system may put you into more appropriate sections.

      hmmm thats interesting....(re the categories evolve/change)

      and also are you saying we will see the relevant category when publishing?...but not whilst browsing?

    If there is a Kindle category, but you don't see it when you are publishing your Kindle title (only when browsing), you can write KDP and ask them to put it in the preferred category/ies. They usually will.

    I wouldn't contact them at all. Might ban you for trying to get wealthy off of them.
