Funny how ABC News has decided to run with THIS story...Yahoo too... Are we supposed to feel sorry for this guy? Making all that money and then couldn't cut back when things got tight....he tried to get out of a hole by digging to the other side of the earth. Stop digging, chief! The psychology involved here is absolutely stunning. People seem to have such an easy time adjusting from being poor to be rich, but when you ask them to lower their standard of living a notch from extravagant to luxurious....they CAN'T seem to do it. Still living in that huge house and on food stamps... Can't bear the thought of sending their children to public school with the rest of the "peasants"... I can't figure out what makes me cringe more, this guy and his obviously not-working trophy wife or the way ABC News acts like this is the type of guy we should all be sorry for....and not the people out there really struggling. Alot of use know people like that. People who work 2 or even 3 jobs(which George Bush called "uniquely American when talking to a divorced mother of 3 working 3 jobs - as if it were a GOOD thing) and live month to month, if not week to week. But THIS is the guy we're supposed to "feel" for because he and his wife lived way beyond their means and weren't smart enough to think ahead....? Please... PS - I'd also be interested to hear about this man's background, because it may have something to do with his current situation. I 've been poor, and it sucked. But what it did do was instill in me a REAL sense of value. Even though I'm doing much better now, I've still kept most of my frugal ways. It almost seems to me that part of the problem in this country right now is too many people lived thru the BOOM times for so long, they've lost that real sense of value and now that the boom is over, they don't seem to know how to shave away all that EXCESS they grew so accustomed to. Rant over. |

750,000 a year. thats 75,000 for 10 years. Think of what a comfortable lifestyle that you could live on with that type of money.

He should have saved his money. As stated a few times, this is an example of constantly spending more than you earn year after year driving yourself further into debt. When problems happen, you are toast. I admire him for trying his own thing and all, but it would seem that you would try to pay off your debts and have something set aside to take care of expenses in case you completely fail altogether. He might be good with other people's money, but he's horrible with his own. |
