GetResponse Questions

I have been using GetResponse for about 2 months now and I'm pretty happy with it.

However I have one problem .. I would like people that subscribe on my squeeze page to be added automatically to my list (simple opt-ins). I had some campaigns where only half of the people would verify their email.

I have seen the import feature on the site, however I would like to do it automatically when a subscriber enters his email on my squeeze page.

Is there such a feature on GetResponse now ?

Thank you,
Gabriel

Hi. I'm not sure if I completely understand your question or not. What I think you're asking is if you can turn the double optin feature off in GetResponse and have the person added to your list without them having to click a confirmation link.

If that's the case I think that is possible, but I'm not positive. I don't use GetResponse, I use Aweber.

If you are not getting confirmations it's probably an issue of needing to remind people to do it, or provide a reason to confirm.

On your thank you for subscribing page make sure at the top of the page you have a line telling people to go to their email and verify their subscription. It helps of you have a nice bribe to get them to confirm. If you are asking to to subscribe to get something from you for free, tell them they have to verify to get access to the freebie.

Then set up a followup message with the link to the download, or the freebie attached that immediate is sent to them once the verify their subscription.

    Hope that helps.

The option you need is called "single opt in" (not simple opt in).
If you don't know how to do it - they offer great support.

I think it's a check box for "confirmed opt-in" - you have to
uncheck it. There are a few intricacies to setting up GR
to do what you want. I turn off the ads that show up on
the confirm page as well. It defaults to showing them but
you CAN turn them off. Some prospects will opt-in to
your list, the get shown a bunch of other lists, opt-in thinking
they are yours, and get basically spammed to death with
"make-money" offers... and conclude the spammy marketers
      are affiliates with YOU!

I had a person on my list ask me about this and draw it
to my attention. Other than list-siphoning or piggybacking,
it dilutes your message and makes you look bad.
