Best Strategy to profit from affiliate

Hi Everyone,

I would like to seek your guidance on my first affiliate strategy.

I have identified an affiliate. The creator of the product himself ranks high for the related keyword. What is the best strategy to profit from this affiliate?

1) Should I start a blog on this subject or should I just created a single landing/squeeze page?

2) Should I create an aweber opt-in list to promote this one product?

Pls advise me.

    I've personally always gone for the approach of building a list regardless of what I'm doing.

    If I was in your shoes, I'd build a small niche website, or landing page, then I'd use paid traffic sources (PPC, Solo Ads) To direct people to the website or landing page (Bare in mind certain PPC rules if you're using a landing page).

    With the opt-ins I receive, I'd use around 4-5 of those emails to provide value, and build a relationship. Give away a couple of freebies, direct them to some good websites, give them some tips etc.

    Once that's done, I'd look at promoting the product itself.

    A straight forward approach I've used when targeting singular products is simply building a small niche site, and running small ppc campaigns with Ad-center. This can be very profitable if done in the right way.
