Advantage/Disadvantage of JV

This year, I ignored more than 20 JV requests through PMs and emails, based on 3 previous experiences. I don't believe JV can do any good for me. I always believe that people who are asking for JV partnership always think on how a partnership can benefit themselves, and not their partners. I say so because I had 3 bad experiences where my membership database entirely lost it's credibility.

Whatever someone has to offer, I'll just ignore him/her. I think I don't have time for that, or I don't want to trouble myself....

What do you think of JV ? Do you have bad/good experience?

Maybe your bad experiences stem from inadequate screening. You have to screen your JV partner very carefully. Do they have a track record of delivering the results they claim? Don't get too swayed by reviews or testimonials since those can be faked/manipulated. Instead, focus on whether the person has the infrastructure to achieve your shared goals. There are SOME JV deals that pan out. Personally, I had a JV with a person in the past who provided software-based traffic. My ROI on that deal went through the roof. Then there were other JV deals that didn't do as well because there wasn't a tight fit between what each partner brought to the table.

The bottom line is you shouldn't dismiss JVs automatically. Keep an open mind.

I never do JVs, waste of time.

If someone wants to make money online, they'll figure it out.

There is enough great ideas out there.

Personally, I think JV's can be extremely profitable when done correctly. If you only approach the right people and you already have a working/friendly relationship with them, and you are both good at what you do, and if your skills/product complements their skills/products in the right way and if you both set out how you are going to promote/work that JV, then great, why not. Also, if you use a JV Broker that is reputable, then you lower the chances of getting a bad partnership, as their job is to find and filter the best partners for your personal project specifics. There are of course people out there that can take advantage of partners, but that's the same offline too, you've just got to make sure you do your homework before hand and ensure they are the right match for your projects.

I think I just don't have time to screen or should I say I am not interested at all. I hate doing some moneymaking selling information and most of these people asking for JV wants to sell information. I don't sell just information. I stop doing making-money-out-of-impossible-and-non-proven-schemes and I just don't like these new ideas/techniques/methods whatsoever.

If there is someone who can offer me a solid traffic exchange strategy then I might give it a go... But telling me to sell money-making products? Hell no! I can do better than that with myself alone...

Not only Money-Making niches have JV potential though and with a broker, you can find pretty much JVs for any product type/market.

The problem so many people miss with JVs is... you're giving away 1/2 your gross sales. If your product is worth a damn, you should be able to use PPC or other paid advertising and come out way ahead.

It may not give you the big kick a large JV mailing does, but you'll net more in the long run.

It could also ruin your entire database of contacts... So NO, I wouldn't dare.. I learned my lesson...
