Affiliate products which include content? Do they exist?

Here's your chance to get my opinion on this out of the way first, in case most of the remaining posts perhaps agree with each other and disagree with mine.

If you "don't have the time" for that, then there's a limit (and it's a very low one!) to the extent that you can benefit from the process you're trying to learn, if you do it that way, because in reality it's all about continuity and you'll miss most of that.

Specifically, whatever you give away as the "opt-in incentive" needs to be written in the same voice and as part of the same process as (a) what attracted traffic to your site in the first place and (b) what's on your site and (c) how you're going to build relationships with your subscribers by email. And that needs to be your voice. In reality, if you use a vendor's ready-made one, it almost never will be. The theory is (perhaps) good but the reality may well disappoint because the income is proportional to the continuity.

This kind of approach makes up most of the difference between the people who have a 15% open-rate for their emails (and typically tell themselves that "that's ok"!! :rolleyes: ) but eventually give up, and the people who have an 85% open-rate and eventually make a living, and it's just about the single most important thing you can learn in this context, if - as you say - you're looking for the education rather than the profit.

I was taken aback by your comment about "not having the time". Seriously, if you don't have the time to learn how to build your business in a way that has any real chance of turning out successfully in the lung run, it's probably better to wait until you do, than it is to start off in the deeply inferior way you mentioned as if it were a realistic alternative of any educational value. It just isn't.

However you say:

If you are thinking of grabbing a whole bunch of articles, emails and reports and then changing your links and hoping to make a ton of cash you may not be so lucky.

Of course it may work for you, but I would look at how much time you have and decide what you REALLY want to do.

If you don't have time then outsource the work. Anyway, you should always put an effort if you want to work it out.

Since you don't have time to create an incentive for your market or engage them after the opt-in, what exactly are you trying to learn here?

If it's the mechanics of putting up a landing page and/or loading an autoresponder, just about anything will work. The process isn't that complicated. Do it and delete it until you're comfortable with the mechanics.

If it's learning to draw traffic to your landing page, you just need a landing page, not an affiliate offer.

So I'm guessing that the commission is important to you, and you want to start banking commissions without the sometimes tedious job of actually serving your chosen market. Pardon the sarcasm, but maybe you can find a vendor that will drive the traffic for you, too. Then you wouldn't have to spend any time at all...

I ask again, what exactly are you really trying to learn with this thread?
