When you buy solo ads, will you offer a free gift or would you direct them to a paid offer in order to cover the cost of the solo ad?

Always start with a free offer, that how you get your list started. Make it as attractive as possible. Make sure the followup offer is affordable, 5-7-9 bucks, and over deliver.

Then send them good content in that niche area 3 or 4 times before you suggest another product.

That model worked very good for me.

Sending people directly to an offer is unlikely to work. Most of these lists have been subject to tons of ads and unless you have a huge discount on a new, very well known product, you will not get conversions. Start with the freebie. Use their curiosity to get them on your list. Make sure you give them a reason to stay on your list. Then, offer something RELEVANT for them to buy, and don't go overboard with the ads.

You could link within your email to a sales page where you offer the lead a low priced product, plus capture the email address if the person decides to buy your product. By doing so you will build a list of highly qualified buyers who might very likely also purchase your products in the future.

The second option would be to simple link within your email to a squeeze page, offering a free gift to every person who opts in to your list. You will generate far more leads with this option but the value of each lead will be significantly lower compared to a "true buyer".

Why are you thinking of buying a solo advert?

If you don't already have a marketing funnel in place trying out traffic sources is pointless, and you will just end up wasting money. Just because you've bought a product and it tells you that buying solo adverts is all you need to build a list doesn't mean that it will work for you.

Lastly the conversion rates and quality of leads generated seems to be going downhill, too many people all going round and round in circles chasing the same goal. The best thing to do is figure out a sub niche where you are have a bit of knowledge and passion, and aim to become the expert.

Best answer on the thread so far and the one I guarantee will be ignored by original poster. Very sad, but true.

Most responsible list owners require you to send prospects to a free offer. After they opt-in you then send them to a OTO for a moderately priced related product.

My OTOs generally pay for my ads, at least.

This sounds like the best idea to me.. Do you use solo ads to drive traffic to your squeeze pages?

What i want to do is give them my free report on a certain thing and then try to sell them a video course showing step by step instructions as my OTO. Then offer them other products that will give even more benefits.

      Thanks for that mate..

You need to offer them a free gift for joining your list

Most solo ad sellers won`t even mail for you anyway if you just want to send traffic direct to a paid offer

If you use a good squeeze page, and give away a good free gift then you can use a OTO and use single opt in and you will cover a lot of your ad cost back pretty quickly

You should always direct them to a squeeze page. The point of Solo Ads in the main, is to attract new leads. However, Ad Swaps are different. If someone you have a working relationship with offers to mail your paid offer to thier list, usually as an affiliate, you can do the same, but for purcahsed Solo Ads, get them to a free squeeze page where they are eager to opt-in and get the great freebie you are offering them.

I generally offer them something free and then display an offer wall once they opt-in to recoup some ad costs.

Make sure you send them to your lead capture page that converts at 30% or higher so you get the most out of your money.
