platform best for affiliate sites?

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi everyone,
I have few questions.

1) what do you recommend for creating Affiliate sites/ landing pages?
- wordpress
- xsitepro
- dreamweaver
- LPGen

2) If wordpress, how to customize it for affiliate sites?
Doesn't all the stuff in sidebar distract the visitor.

3) I saw some recommending Artisteer for creating customized wp themes: any suggestions.

It's really depend on your budget. Wordpress is free to use, xsitepro and dreamweaver will cost you money.

But xsitepro and dreamweaver are very good softwares to create affiliate sites. You can customize the way you want. With wordpress you have to install the particular plugins and themes. Still that cost you money to get nice plugins & themes for wordpress.

From my experience, you can use free softwares like komposer, nuv.. it's very easy to use softwares and create the sites like you do with dreamweaver and xsitepro.

Hi Angel man,

Just my personal opinion.. and no offend..

I think it doesn't matter which platform we use..
as long as we 'take care' of the visitor (traffic) that comes to the site..

Somehow, I'm using wordpress all these while..
coz it's free
and there has lots of supported plugins that make life a whole lot easier.

thanks for replies.
I am willing to buy and not necessarily looking for free softwares.

I want to create sites and promote them with ppc.
I want to use Dynamic keyword insertion.

I want to know the software that is effective and I can generate sites relatively quickly also.

More suggestions please.

If you are looking to do a some higher level stuff with keyword insertion for ppc landing pages then you want to take a look at:
- LPGen
- SpeedPPC
- PPCKahuna (Blitz LP)
Worpress doesn't have a plugin, that I know of, that will accomplish that. Xsitepro and dreamweaver will allow you to create that landing page templates that the programs above will use to make your pages.

However, I always attach a blog to EVERY site that I promote stuff on and have content fed automatically into it so that if the market tests well, I have the "authority site" already in the making.

I like to promote the affiliate link that the affiliate program gives you.Its called direct linking i found its alot easier.

  Great tips there.
  I checked the LPGena and speedPPC.
  SpeedPPC has landing page creating option in Pro version.
  
  1) Do you suggest speedppc pro version OR speedPPC and LPGen combo: I know combo is expensive but apart from budget, which is preferable.
  
  I watched jeremy palmer Black Ink Project, he likes to build sites in Dreamweaver and then add wordpress blog.
  
  2) If I create site in xsitepro, can I upload that into LPGen and use Dynamic keyword insertion?
  
  The problem with wordpress for affiliate sites: it has lot of distractions in sidebar. Even if I make frontpage static, and use it as landing page, the other parts still looks like blog. To customize the theme, it needs lot of tweaking. I use wordpress for niche sites where I use adsense.
  
  static site : I can put lot of landing pages and as you suggested can add blog for articles to add more content and eventually get organic traffic too.
  
  3) wordpress: can I make more than one landing page other than frontpage without distractions.
  
  4) For affiliate site, in your opinion:
  1. xsitepro site and keyword insertion with LPGen PLUS wordpress blog
  2. just site created in xsitepro or dreamweaver
  3. site made with wordpress
  
  Which one will convert better?

If you just want to create a landing page then NVU or Kompozer is enough. It's pretty easy to use and it's free. The conversion thing will depend on how you approach people to buy from your link.

Wordpress is the best & easiest option. There are THOUSANDS of one-column templates with killer designs. WP has also tons of awesome plugins that makes affiliate marketing a breeze. Don't even think about another option.

  Now I want to know is it possible to use ONLY wordpress to accomplish these:
  
  1. create an authority site for a niche like weight loss. This should have a feel like regular blog. eg. side bar with categories, pages, posts etc.
  2. Then create few landing pages which doesn't have a navigation bar. want to block search engines with robots.txt file.
  Drive ppc traffic in addition to organic traffic.
  
  I know you can write sales copy with one column theme.
  
  But to build authority site, I need both things: regular blog and single column landing page.
  
  can both be achieved? if yes, how?

  I like Wordpress. But I am PHP programmer. I like hacking around WordPress themes.
  
  But if you are building the site with flipping in mind, HTML is better because it's easier to move.
