I have a very small list of about 500 people in the Numerology niche. I set up a sales funnel about a year ago and basically let it sit.The freebie offered by the product I am promoting is so good that very few people, 5 or 6, have purchased the actual product.

I have tried the odd broadcast promoting lottery products and self help products but received no bites. The list seems to be non buyers, or I have not found the right product (s) to promote.

Is this list dead? Can it be revived?

Any suggestions as to what I can and should do with it....

Advice would be appreciated.

Have you tried sending asking them? Maybe send them a survey or just ask them a question regarding an important topic to their niche that can lead to a profitable idea.

Your freebie should be "so good." There's nothing wrong with that, but the product you should offer next would be something that be the logical next step.

How gradual is your sales funnel? The first paid product should not be a huge, substantial price. You have to get them used to buying from you. And you have to include intense value. Get them talking, ask them what their problems are in your niche and figure out a product to introduce to them to solve their needs.

It's harder to revive a list than it is to start a fresh list to be honest, but what I would do, is try to get them to confirm again, just so you dwindle out the ones that might aswell not be on the list and then start to rebuild the list from there.

I would say the problem isn't with your list being non-buyers, the issue seems to be with the way you treat your list and the lack of relationship as a result of that. (I don't mean to sound harsh -- it's actually the same mistake majority of list builders make)

List building isn't something you can do on and off. Sending random offers from time to time does not a responsive list make.

As the other poster above mentioned, you are probably best to start off building a fresh list. But don't waste your time doing so until you have an actual game plan in place or the exact same thing will happen.

Your dead on! When I started this list I was really only looking for a quick bang for my buck. I really did not think it through with a long term perspective.

        I like that terminology...

... List building should be about building a business asset that is going to be profitable for as long as you can make it profitable.

It's like asking the question, would you like a thousand bucks now, or ten thousand in a year - unless you're desperate, you're going to wait a year and get the ten grand.

List building/email marketing is an absolutely beautful thing - it pays my bills and allows me to live the way I live - I know I just have to treat my subscribers right and make sure there spending there money with me instead of someone else.

I would switch niches. What kind of products are you offering for the Numerology market?

Start a new list and be sending them 2 or 3 emails a week once they reach the end of your autoresponder - mix it up 1 sales for every 3 or 4 emails you send.

Your old list... send them a mail asking them to join your new list and offer them a 50% discount on your original product if they do. You'll get a bundle of sales and you'll weed out the non buyers. Result = new list with buyers from old list + a fresh list of prospects you can condition better this time around.

Don't look to MAKE money - look to HELP people and you will make all the money you can ever want.

There are two things that are causing your problems:

    1) You don't have a good enough relationship with your subscriber

    and...

    2) You don't know what they want.

You saying you send them the 'odd' email is not enough, you need a routine - they need to know when you're going to email them and what your going to email them with (an incentive to open the email)

And as for not knowing what they want, simple surveys, blog posts, emails asking them to tell you what they need to know etc. all work.

You need to do a hell of a lot more learning before you can start complaining about your list being dead, you've not even equipped it with enough for the list to be considered alive.

I would set up 10 emails you can send out to them for 10 straight days running.

I know people think that this could be off-putting but these emails are going to be packed with more awesome FREE bonuses, highly percieved value information to blow their socks off.

Also they get to know you as a marketer and as long as you place your name in every subject line so they get to know your name; they will then begin to look out for your next emails.

This is if you provided outstanding quality for the first 10 emails though.

Also it depends which niche you are in of course.

Hope this helps and have a great day!!!

I might give it one last try and focus on one of my other more profitable niches. In hind sight I have no interest in Numerology and really don't think I can.

Well this is your problem right here.

If you have no interest in it, you probably also don't know anything about it.

And if you don't know anything about it, then you aren't going to be able to speak the same language as your audience, nor know what they like or love about numerology.

Don't worry this happened to me.

I had the smart idea that I would setup in the Gambling/Casino niche, but I didn't gamble myself, and I was actually against gambling. Don't ask me what I was thinking, lol.

So, if you don't know anything about it, and you are not interested in it, then you might as well just move on.

But learn a lesson that lists are not things that you can just send random stuff to once in awhile.

You want to build familiarity so they open your emails, and trust so they start buying what you are offering and promoting.

As mentioned by others, I think you should ask them what they want? what their problems are? what difficulties are they facing at the moment. In that way, you might have some chances of solving their problems, and revive the list again!
