Generate Traffic By Using A Blog Commenting Strategy

Another way to get fast traffic is through commenting. About the same way of getting traffic from social media.

Both go through the content you write and by your "image" visibility.

There is a difference of getting some traffic and a whole lot!

Comment strategically.

1. Have a RSS Reader on hand and see when posts are first published.

2. Choose about five or ten blogs that receive good traffic, and try to be in the top 5 area of the comment section.

3. Always strive for that top comment!

There are some very cheap VPA services that can fire of lots of high quality and responsive comments per day. So at least the time issue is taken care of. The only problem is the posts must be geared towards creating a good ROI or else it's a waste...

This is the problem that I ran in to when I tried it. It is so wasteful of time relative to results. Surely there must be some shortcuts? If you have tried it, you'll know the problems. I'm sure the advice given here is mostly hearsay

If you do it right, you won't be wasting time. The problem is when people look at blog commenting as a SHALLOW activity-using a "hit it and quit it" commenting approach. The better and SUSTAINABLE approach is to use it to BUILD relationships.

It takes more time but the pay off can be quite sizable and sustainable.

Blog commenting is one of the biggest factor that you can drive traffic.
It is been proven already by many.
Just keep in mind that the amount of traffic you generate from a certain blog comment is equals to the value of your comment.

Blog commenting works really well if you do it correctly. Many people are still spamming blogs, but if you take the time to craft a great comment you will see traffic coming through.

It can take time and of course results vary from niche to niche but in general it's a good strategy it 'builds bridges'.

I am still very new to this whole business, but I have found that some comments I made on a question/answer site drive lots of traffic to a few of my articles. The comments gave lots of information and I do make some sales on those articles. I like this approach and yes, it does take time.

BINGO - I've been using this method for years, easy way to build backlinks, personal branding and traffic. The biggest tip as you mention is finding a high traffic blog, but not only that - have a notification so you know EXACTLY when they post because that's when they're going to email their list and other social networks about their updates.

Exactly. A good blog comment has the following elements:

      1) Indication that you've read the post you're commenting on - quote or paraphrase

      2) Original analysis - tears apart a premise or examines an assumption of the post being commented on

      3) Brings something new to the conversation - plays devil's advocate or pulls in new supporting facts or compares to other scenarios

      4) Engages the author of the blog post - suggests improvement / suggests alternatives

Commenting is ALL ABOUT BRANDING - you are branding your link. The better your brand, the more traffic you get!

The thing I don't like about blog commenting is not the time it takes to post, but the time it takes to find relevant blogs.

Even with typing keywords into scrapebox, I wind up with lists of blogs where 75% of the blogs have nothing to do with the keywords I scraped. So I have to go through tons of blogs just to find a few that are relevant. Like the other day I scraped for the keyword "home remodeling nj". Then I wind up with blogs about train stations in NY, or the most random stuff you can imagine.

Needless to say I don't do a lot of blog commenting. Maybe I'm using scrapebox wrong. But it always seems most of the blogs have nothing to do with the keywords I'm scraping for.

randall hit in on the head. You do not have to go about posting on 100's of blogs a day, you just have to find 3 or 4 of the high quality ones, and write informational, informal, high quality, curiosty filled posts.

Do not get the owner thinking. "oh chit, not this spammer again!"

Get the owners and the other commenters thinking "hmmm this guys is right and seems to know what he is talking about" and get them craving to click your links. I call this the link bait trap, and it really works wonders. You can literally get hundreds of visits a day to your sites and or blogs from just one well thought out post.

On occasions I have spent 20 mins just thinking up a good post to write, and sit there and edit it to make it better.

WHY? THIS IS A WASTE OF TIME?

Well no, because I know the highest quality traffic to my site can come from blogs at times, and most likely to get them on your list, and for them to buy stuff, so go back and read my post...these are the sort of customers you want. They are highly targeted. You want them on your list, and becoming your fan.

This whole concept of blog commenting is quite intricate, however most people do not take it seriously and see no results, that is why *winks*

This makes me wonder, why people bother to click a link? well, it depend on how we place the link. Most blog reader who also read the comment is one who wants to know is there someone who share the same feeling with me? if not, I will comment my feeling my self.
The conclusion, before write any words in that comment box, always remember to write your honest positive feeling

Blog commenting is one of the oldest and most effective way of earning lots of traffic.

The only problem with it is what most have stated, it takes too long for you to comment on blogs and even look for high PR blogs.

The answer? You can simply hire someone or a team to do it for you.

There are lots of free lancers in the internet offering that kind of service for others for very cheap prices.

You can spend like $5 - $10 for 100 blog comments which would definitely give you traffic and most importantly, save you lots of time.

I use FeedDemon to manage the blog RSS subscriptions, rather than focus on simply generating traffic consider this an exercise in self development. Follow the blogs that stretch and develop you in some way with regards to whatever niche you are active in.

By doing this you can leave meaningful natural comments whilst generating backlinks and networking with like minded people, over time you will be able to cut away the blogs that no longer develop you or your blog.

While you are blog commenting, don't forget the forum posting. As long as you are providing usefulness to the blog owners readers there should be no problems with them accepting the link to your site. It's also a great way to feel out other blogs in your niche. Consider sending the owner a message -- particularly if they reply to your comment -- asking if you could write a "guest" post for their blog. Really if done right you can get so much value for the time it aint funny.

For that very reason you pick blogs whose owners allow links.

If older posts have comments with links, they'll let you have one too.

By the way, having your name/handle link back to you is good.

RSS Feed is also great for keyword detection so you can take rifleshots at your marketing instead of employing a shotgun approach. Shotgun approaches don't work. It may seem that the rifle method involves TOO MUCH WORK FOR TOO LITTLE TRAFFIC but we're not after traffic volume. Instead, we're shooting for specific traffic. Your chances of a sale/lead collection with specific traffic is higher than shotgun blasts.
