Building a milion dollar blog from scratch??

Hello guys:

I am very interested in building an authority blog and hope that it will become a big success. I am planning to join a good blogging course first. can anyone suggest any? I know blogging is a long term affair and it take years, but I am prepared to put in the work and learn from an expert blogger. I know there are many out there, but which one do you suggest to go with?

There's tons of free "blogging basics" blogs out there. No need to pay for coaching at this stage. The time you need coaching is when you've mastered the basics and intermediate skills and are ready to level up. Alternatively, if you are focused on a very tight niche, there are some experts that can help.

It is said that the technology blogs are most visited and welcomed. And they are quite very well seen in the eyes of google.

Great plan, yes it does take time and dedication (not to mention you need to LOVE writing!).

There are many cool tricks you can implement into your blog to attract more visitors and go viral in different ways, but rather than spending months 'learning' what to do I would strongly suggest jumping straight in and writing your first blog post on your blogging platform of choice (I would recommend a self-hosted Wordpress install for your goals).

You can implement things down the track, just getting content up is half the struggle for most people and will always be much more beneficial than knowing how to create rss feeds for your posts for example.

Great advice. You definitely wanna go with Wordpress to get your feet wet. It's easy yet professional and the possibilities in terms of layout, features etc are endless. You will also be easily able to integrate all sorts of back-end help like SEO, social network/media integration with simple plug-ins. A great strategy is to use the "search" function on the Warrior Forum Menu Bar while you are learning, and don't be afraid to invest in some WSOs.

    Hi,

It is a long term thing. My advice would be to use many forms of communication on your blog- not just text articles but also a podcast and regular videos. When you post these podcasts and videos you can also post a text transcript or summary (this will help the search engines to read them.)

If you are planning to make a 'million dollar blog' you might want to consider having a product- just keep it in mind for the future. If you plan to make money, or to sell your blog, it has to offer some sort of financial incentive so it's actually worth a million.

I've found some good blogging tips at Entrepreneurs Journey.

It certainly is a long term affair. Personally I don't think blogging
is a good way to make a living online (way too much work), but
hey, if you like to write, then you might be able to pull it off.

Reaching that million dollar status will be difficult though, and
will require a lot of dedication. There are plenty of good posts
about blogging on this forum, and SEO will be very important,
so I recommend reading threads in the SEO section.

    Good luck.

Use WordPress, it’s very easy to use. And if you want to have a niche that lures a huge traffic, go with Tech and Entertainment.

You should use a good blogging platform like wordpress and then choose a niche you are good at but if i am to advise, entertainment drives huge traffic.

Yes! I haven't "personally" used this course but I've seen great things about it: startablogthatmatters(dot)com. Sorry, I haven't posted enough yet to add a link but think this site is worth checking out.

I do not really think you need a course here. You just need to know what you are writing about and post very useful information there. And do it regulary.
If you do this, your site will become an authority at some point.
