What's The Difference Between Drip-Fed and Fixed Term Membership Site?

Hi Everyone, Sandy here...

I'm planning on starting my first membership site in the next couple of weeks.

I came across these two terms while doing membership research:
*drip-fed* and *fixed term* membership sites.

Can anybody please give me an easy to understand explanation for each?

Thanks,
Sandy

    As far as i know,

Drip-fed = you make content every single month but each new member starts from the beginning

Fixed-term = you make content for a set amount of weeks and new members start from week 1 when they purchase, however, once your content runs out the membership ends

    Sandy,

Drip feed = how the content is delivered. This means that the content will be delivered a little at a time over a period of days, months, weeks, or years.

Fixed Term Membership = how the customer pays you. This is a payment plan which means the customer pays you a fee for a set period of time then payment stops. For example... if you have a 6 week fixed term plan then your customers will make 6 payments once a week then will no longer be billed.

Fixed term just means the customer only gets billed for a very specific number of payments then the payments stop rather being billed forever unless they stop as normal subscriptions do.

Depends what kind of content you have as well - to make it work. Drip fed is probably best for something ongoing like SEO or designing, you're more likely to keep subscribers on content that is changing week in week out. Fixed term for something like yoga or knitting where the content is static and the subscriber is more likely to want to refer back to previous videos or advice etc.
