Twitter and affiliate ads

I am thinking about putting effort into twitter to create a new account and get a ton of followers. Currently my largest account, which is outdoor / camping based has about 1500 organic followers.

I am thinking about using similar techniques to start a new account but put far more effort into growing it including trying out a fiverr gigs that share the msg to their followers and of course to my using my exsiting networks such as other twitter and facebook accounts, my two newsletters which go out to some 3500 readers, etc. Any way the point is I think with some effort over period of a few months i can grow the account to having say 5-10 thousand followers.

The feed will be mostly automated posting with tips, quotes, news, shared blog posts, etc around a given niche.

What I would like to do along the way is use clickbank and commission junction... as well as other options I sell directly to monetize the feed.

I was wondering if anyone has had luck doing anything like this? Any suggestions, guidance, etc.

    You need RETWEETERS to make your message go viral. One fairly easy way to do this is to build BLOG RELATIONSHIPS with other bloggers in your niche. They will have followers so basically they retweet your stuff in exchange for you retweeting their stuff.

    icoachu - agreed.. this happens naturally with my @scoutbot and @roadceo ones as I share the blog posts they thank me, share some of my stuff, etc... but I had not thought about contacting them directly to ask for kind of a trade - me likes

      I used retweet exchanges as adretweet.com and retweet.org for such things until i had less then 10000 real followers and it helped me more then i could do alone. Just a thought...
