--- Website with content vs Squeeze page. Which one is the best? ---

Hi warriors,

I want to make a website about playing golf.

My first idea was to create a website with different pages about How To Play, Where To Play, What to play, News & Tours, Photos, Features, etc.

Doing so, I thought it would increase my chances to rank well in SERP.

Of course, I've also planned to give an ebook to build my list.

But someone suggest that I should only create a squeeze page with my ebook to keep it as simple as possible for the visitors.

I found some very good looking sites about playing golf and they all have lots of content on it.

Do you think if I try to build my list with a website with content instead of a squeeze page?

Which strategy do you think would be better in that niche?

Thanks in advance!

    Why not do both?!

Here's my take on it. A squeeze page will get you a lot more subscribers, but a website would do part of your job of "building trust" in these subscribers. Only go the squeeze page route if you would actually take the time to provide tremendous value to your list and build trust within them before trying to shove products down their throat.

Me, personally, I would go with a squeeze page. There's no "best" option. It differs from person to person. Different people will tell you different things based on their individual experiences.

    Hope this helped,

I split-tested this in four of my niches and found the same thing in all four: I built a bigger list with a squeeze page, but made significantly more money (over a 6-month period) from the lists built with an opt-in on a content-rich site.

Having done all this extended split-testing, I abandoned squeeze pages entirely.

That's not to say that my results will also necessarily apply to you, of course. I think they depend mostly on the traffic demographics (and on the niche only in so far as the traffic demographics themselves vary according to the niche).

I think the easy mistake to avoid is the assumption that the biggest list is going to equate to the biggest income. That's clearly not the case.

I do. That's what I'd do. But I'm not in that niche.

I think it's much more demographic-dependent than niche-dependent. If I were going into that niche, I'd still be doing so as an article marketer (which is what I do in all my other niches) so I wouldn't be using a squeeze-page. People who like articles like "content", I think. Those are real customers. The higher numbers who will opt in to a squeeze page don't buy as much. In my experience. You need to test it for yourself, really, but it's a big job to do that, of course. I don't blame you for asking. Good luck!
