What Is And How Do You Use Twitter For Traffic?

Ive heard of people using twitter, now ive had a look about and i dont understand how it relates to traffic?

How do you use it?

    well all u do is register for now and start following people and others follow u then ... then u can post message and also ur urls and people who follow visit it

    Don't get on Twitter to just get a bunch of traffic, if that is your only goal you will fail. Get on Twitter, build relationships, have fun, be authentic, be helpful, and use it consistently. Don't spam, and before you know it, you will get plenty of traffic from it.

    You should get Dana's Twitter Goldrush product - search the forum for it for her wso - it explains all!

    basically you should put 'value' posts - retweeting great stuff or great free valuable info - and only 25% or less of the time then do a ad copy/sale type of twitter post....

    once you have a larger following- it helps with your traffic as one part of your social media strategy.

      You target people based on keywords or user groups that you are interested in and then you follow them. Most will follow you back. Once you get used to conversations within that group, you can send a link every now and then to a new post or product. Mention that you are offering services or any other product that you provide. Just don't spam.

        IMHO, going to Twitter for Traffic is a bad move ! Social Traffic is very low converting Traffic. Its just as plain and simple as that. If you have Boatloads of time on your hand and you want to socialize and meet new friends then eat your heart out.

        But personally, I have a limited amount of time and Id rather allocate my energy towards building up higher converitng Search Traffic than this Social Traffic.

        But I must say it is a great way to get Smart Priced with your Adsense, if that is what you are looking for

          So you are one of those Twitter haters? Well I can assure you that Twitter traffic does convert. Not only that, but it can help you create a solid brand in the process.

          I don't know why you'd send someone to an adsense site anyway. I'd rather send them to an affiliate site or use Twitter to sell services.

          You can't put a price on social equity.

            Last time I checked you could have Affiliate Products and Adsense on the same Site !!

    Hi New Life:

    Hope all is well. Twitter can be a great way to gain traffic and learn from others but when you post there the first time you may be surprised that you are limited to 140 characters. For some reason they decided to only use the technology from how a phone text works. When texting on a cellular device after 140 words you have to continue with part 2 and so on.

    Choose your words carefully and offer posts that will inspire others to follow you.

    Offer something of Value. Answer all DMs personally and promptly. Do not use an auto DM reply. I know if someone follows me immediately, they are not ever going to see my stuff.
    UN-follow anyone who does not follow you back within 48 hours. Keep searching for new friends using keyword targeting everyday. See an example of how to get people to follow and RT your updates in my SIG.
