Starting your own internet marketing business is a challenge. We grow as persons through overcoming challenges and obstacles, and building your business can be the most satisfying thing you can do with your life. But it is not easy, as many of us already has discovered.

When we are sold products by gurus, who already have made it online, they are taking advantage of our dreams (perhaps not knowingly). That is what selling is. It is not their concept, business idea, method or system we buy into; it is the dream of living a life with that kind of work, and making money comfortably.

I am here to tell you something...

STARTING AN INTERNET MARKETING CAREER IS NOT COMFORTABLE

in fact, it can be very scary. you didn't expect this when you first started marketing online.

THAT IS WHY YOU FAIL!

You didn't expect that you needed to leave your comfort zone. Just set up a website and watch the money pile up, but that is not reality. It takes sweat, blood and even tears to build a business, ANY business. That is why we jump from method to method, never committing, we still seek the comfortable solution.

Expect nothing less from yourself than very hard work. Go all in. Be ready to make sacrifices.

The good news is that when you get the ball rolling, it is the most satisfying feeling you can have. You made it.

And then you can live the internet lifestyle of deciding your own hours, work while travelling and quit your day job. That, my friends, is what we seek. But it has a price.

BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS.

#fail

Expecting to stumble and resolving to LEARN is definitely KEY to success. Great post, man.

The key is LEARNING. Nothing teaches better than failure.

Great post and so very true. I know many people that fail in this business because they are scared to even get started.

Haha - yeah. So true! I think I thought it would be easier when I first started because all the rock stars in the IM space make it look so easy and like to refer to themselves as "lazy" (of course they make it look that way - they want to sell IM programs, right?)

But yep - tons of hours of learning, applying knowledge, trial and error, and persistence! It is still hard work, but worth it!

A lot of people give up too quickly as well. If they don't see results right away, they move on and find the next shiny thing. Stick with a program that's proven to work and you'll see results.

You are right but I think many "webmasters" fail because they use ideas of others.

Nothing bad in using non original ideas, if you are not successful in your business, copy someone who is, it will take a lot of work, but you don't have to reinvent the wheel.

The real problem with most new to internet marketing is the lack of real action, buying product after product isn't real action, learning to do something doesn't put any money in your bank account, going out there and actually implementing what you learn does!

    Nice post!

I have to agree it is work, research, time, trial and error and you WILL fail along the way, but the way I think of it is, even the best professional baseball sluggers don't make 100% of their hits and a very small percentage of home runs (this is why I enjoy and follow sports, it boosts my internal competitiveness and it puts business in perspective.)

But once you've got things working, there is no better sense of satisfaction.

The difference between those who win and those who fail is:

    - Those who fail: Always looking for the next stone to turnover and another resource, continually, thus never actually being resourceful themselves.

    - Those who succeed: They are resourceful themselves. They aren't in the never ending circle of excuses of "More resources will get me my goals".

Being resourceful yourself will give you a momentum that will snowball overtime and catapult you to success if you follow through with a definite aim.
