Young sales stud professional seeking information!

Hello there fellow internet marketing warriors,

My name is Chris Jones and I am a 24 year old soon to be ASU Communications graduate trying to figure out what I am going to do for a living. I love helping people grow their business and have a strong sales/customer service background in the restaurant, resort, retail and technology industry. I am fascinated how the internet and social media can make a business grow.

I think I want to fix broken youtube channels for small business owners or clean up individual's facebook, linked in, twitter and pintress accounts.

Does anyone have some good ideas as how to get started in this business in general I know I am asking a very broad question but I am too intelligent to be working for other people and making sales calls for another business. I want to think out of the box and avoid the cubicle trap, (Office Space) trap I am currently in. It has given me a good basis of experience but I need a marketable skillset that I can start developing.

I am a creative, driven and motivated young sales guy who is hungry for work and money! I want to work smarter not harder. Any help would be appreciated, thanks so much.

Where do you want to start? My best advice would be learn one thing well, until you have exhausted it. Then move on to the next thing, The one thing you have learnt, then you have become an expert and people will respect you more for this, as you know your field.

      Ha!

I thought you'd be a salesman for construction or from a saw mill or something from your term "stud professional".

So why exactly did you use that term?

    hehe

I think you should fix all this for me (all free of course) so I can give you an evaluation and testimonial to use on the site you use to market yourself.

Seriously, here is what I'd do.

I'd spend some time looking at whom ever else is providing these types of services already, and figure out your unique angle on it and get to work.

For a start, what the heck is a "pintress" account? I've heard of Pinterest - is it like that?

Seriously, if you want to convince people you know what you're talking about, you should know the correct name and spelling of the services you want to consult on.

Your post reads a lot like the resumes I used to scan when I did some hiring for a couple of different companies.

"strong sales/customer service background in the restaurant, resort, retail and technology industry" usually means you worked your way through college as a waiter, retail store clerk and customer service phone rep. I'm not saying those are bad, just that puffing them up doesn't impress people who have seen it before.

You bill yourself as a "sales stud professional"... Mind giving us a peek at your sales experience and why you think you're a sales stud?

I'm not ragging you to be mean. If you intend to work with real business people, you'll need to know how to talk to them. You'll need to sell yourself before you try to sell any kind of service.

I agree with what others have said. If I read "sales stud" I read someone with a big ego who isn't prepared to learn or listen to what others have to say. It sounds like a B.S. description by someone who is young and doesn't know as much as he thinks he does.

So, you need to be more honest if you want help from the experienced members here.
