Good Links (6-7-8PR) but no Clicks. Help.

An SEO expert I am not. I follow what I understand to be best practices and do my best to write good keyword centric content, generate good meta data and procure good back links.

I have gotten my primary client to page one Google for many keywords and even the number one spot for some. Between multiple domains, Google Places/Plus and AdWords (and soon YouTube) we are able to get four-five links above the fold on many keywords. However, I know we can do just as well on other keywords if we had a little more umph.

I have about 20 solid backlinks from directories, business associations, schools and suppliers with PR ranging from 3-8 (we're a 1/10), most of which are PR6+. However, *no one clicks those links*.

So what do we do? The website is very local, so I don't know if clicks from just anywhere are useful, I assume I need clicks from the around the target area. Are there services that offer "localized" traffic / clicks or should I just be happy with anything?

Thanks.

There is a company called Geo local SEO at http://www.geolocalseo.com/ I have never personally used that service, but I've heard good things. It could be worth checking out.

PR seldom means anything. Traffic to those sites means everything. I would rather have a link on a site that is "not yet rated" but gets 20,000 visitors a day as opposed to a PR 9 that was manipulated for PR and no traffic.

This question will probably be better posted in the correct sub-forum here:

Clicks that aren't local for the local website are truly worthless.

However, any links you get that do not offer a strong call-to-action are links that have real little value in the bigger picture.

You need to construct links in such a way that people will actually want to click the links if the user is actually a good target for your offer.

If you want more local traffic, then you should try to also get links on local websites. Outside of search engines, the local users are probably visiting other local sites in their hunt for providers.

More than just search engine click-through traffic, it would be ideal if you can set up some kind of tracking -- like forwarding telephone numbers -- so that you can include a phone number with your listing and get direct phone calls for your client that you can also track and report to your client.
