Questions about traffic. and more.

I recently launched limitless jewelry
about 1 week ago, but have no way of getting viral. I recently learned about keywords, and just added some today to the index page. I also have a Facebook fan page, but no one likes my page ;(. What would be the best free route to gain traffic for a website that sells jewelry?

Also anything that I can work on in my site? Any help would be appreciated.

Have you considered Youtube. Make a quality video videos showcasing your products. Add the link to your website in the description and SEO your video link. If you get desperate, you can buy 'Likes' from Fiverr.

      Hi Christopherson,

If it were me, I would look for forums that deal with jewelry or the selling of jewelry and get tips from those people as well. Also, you may be able to put up a link in those forums that leads directly to your site.

As far as the facebook page goes, have you tried checking out other people's pages in your niche and maybe get some ideas for how to improve yours so that you will receive "likes". I do not recommend purchasing "likes" for many reasons. Just my opinion, though!

Good luck and have fun with it!

That's what I was thinking. Make a video of you sitting in the sunshine with a ton of jewelry on like Mr. T. Angle the camera just right so everything glistens in the sun....add relaxing music...then make your link show up in one of those red popups.

Nice looking site with great navigation. Looks like your doing things right in terms of directing costumers via shopping cart. I don't know much about the jewelry niche but I find with Amazon affiliate "store" based sites you need to separate yourself from everyone else doing the same thing.

I am not sure how big you plan on building the site itself but having a section for "jewelry curated news" or a "jewelry blog". gives customers a reason to come back and in-tern keep shopping with you instead of just shopping on Amazon. Also if your having problems with facebook/twitter fans, hitting Fiverr to kick start the flow of social presence juices doesn't hurt too

Yeah forums are the best. Find some good forums, build a relationship. Don't just go and start promoting it or spam it. Like here on WF, so many Internet marketers find potential clients here. They provide valuable posts and people do buy from here.

You need do the same. For quick traffic you can always use PPC, Facebook, POF etc.
Youtube is a great source of FREE traffic too.

SEO Link Building, Promote and Review your products on Youtube, Get A Real Logo People Will Remember (Don't use Plain Text).. Going to ramble for a second. Please fix that frame on your page, get ride of the scroll bar and hide it so it appears to be apart of the page.. Develop your site more, right now it's just too simple, where's the content or unique features that will make your site go viral? There's nothing that would make that happen.. Also add an About Us page, make your site feel REAL, make people comfortable promoting the site for you.. It's a webstore so treat it as a business and a real store.. You have a long way to go, but it's a good start so keep working at it!

    2 Things you should do;

Create a blog attached to your site. You can write abotu random stuff about jewelry, for example you can write about jewelry that celebrities are wearing, or maybe jewelry in fashion and new designs coming out; whatever really. Doing this will help you stay active which I think is important.

Secondly, as others have said – participate in forums. This is the best way really. You need to provide value and good content in your community, this will make you a leader and develop a presence in the community.

    Hope that helps.

I was gonna recommend you to blog especially about celebrity bling. Then connect with celeb/gossip bloggers, comment on their blogs, let them know about your content, partner with them. Forums are great for your niche, too.

Just to add to the YouTube idea, maybe you could send some samples to the YouTube beauty gurus with a lot of subscribers, and see if they would like to promote you. That said, you would, off course, have to compensate them somehow...maybe affiliate commissions or something, or you could even give a discount to all their followers. Just an idea

If you have no SEO experience, it will take a long time to learn and you may make a few mistakes and do more harm to your SERPs along the way.

Stick with some of the good ideas posted in this thread. Show off some of your designs on YouTube, Flickr, etc. Always link back to your website.

Build a blog and write about your products. Learn on-page SEO as you go, things like keywords, etc.

Get busy on facebook! Tell your friends to like your page, harass them if need be! Try to get them to do the work for you!

Or you could employ the services of a SEO Professional but this would cost a lot of money!

Thanks everyone for your help! I am taking all of these post's into consideration, and will shortly upgrade my website content wise to make it differ from the others. I'm not good at making logos, and what not, so I will have to look into that, same with You tube videos, and articles. I know I have a long way to go, but I enjoy seeing the comments of how I " am in the right direction." it really brings my spirits up.

A couple tips that I would mention:

SEO is key to get Google traffic.

I'd use the Google Keyword tool and find they keywords that get searched the most locally.

You may have to re-brand your site to use these keywords (or get a new domain name based on these keywords) but you could also just use these keywords inside your upcoming articles.

I would also be active on other Facebook groups and pages with people who'd be interested in Jewelry. I'm also a Facebook expert for IM so if you'd like to learn more PM me or visit my signature link below.

    Hope that helps!

    Sincerely,

    -Brody

Thanks guys, I am currently working on a blog and writing content in the sliders for SEO, even though I'm still a little bit weary on the SEO part ( I don't know if I'm doing it right with keywords and such)
working on the content of my store as well. (As far as quality goes.) I'm going to add a watch section, and an about section later. the navigation is getting a little crowded. any ideas of how to make it look a little more neat, or does the whole navigation look fine ( with the added 2 more titles.)

Nothing happens over night, just go step by step. New sites sometime need time to get sales, but you just started and it's good to ask here. A lot of members can help you. If you are promoting on Twitter at all i would suggest to use Adretweet.com (retweet exchange, free), get some FB fans, Pinterest sharing is also good for your business.... Affiliate program, or joining some CPA program could work as well... Hips of ideas, but don't do too many at once

Hey bud I would do a promo video showcasing the jewelry and then upload it to video sharing websites like youtube, vimeo, meta cafe, daily motion.

Remember you are promoting something that is visual! So how about taking some screen capture shots and sharing them on Pinterest and Facebook.

Look what I just found: The Jewelry Box - PurseForum

Get in there and network and promote your site!

Here is another one: Diamond Jewelry Forum - Compare Diamond Prices, Discussions & Diamond Information

Both forums are very active with visitors and members. All i did to find those was entered this string in Google search: jewelry + forum

    Hope this helps you!

    Now go take action

    PS.
You can get promo videos made on Fiverr for $5...I'm sure you can request to have them made to fit the jewelry market...

Videos about jewelry are not exactly viral material.

It has to be something either funny, shocking, amazing, moving, disgusting...you get the idea...for people to want to tell their friends, be it by email or facebook, "hey look at what I found."
