Have disappeared from Google Local Listings

Hi there all

Can anyone shed some light on this - not sure if it has happened as a result of Penguin 2 or what!

One of my clients has a Google Local Listing (the old Places type listing) which up until the day before yesterday was on page 1 of the search results for his main keyword. It has disappeared! When I say disappeared I mean totally disappeared! I have trawled down through all 7 pages of local listings and it is not there.

I have been into his Google account and checked in his Places folder. Its still there with no messages from Google.

Cannot fathom why this has happened.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Jon

Have you verified the listing properly....
You can provide me the places page and let me see whether I can help you or not

Honestly not enough information to go off of and figure this out...

The listing was verified by PIN number and has been live for about 6-8 weeks. I have just been into his Google Places account and clicked on the "See your listing in Google" link, under the Active column and it takes me to a new page with "We currently do not support the location " on it.
    Very strange!

Could it just be part of a Google dance??!! and that it will re-appear in a few days?

"We currently do not support the location" is the new normal for about a week after verifying. BUT if the listing was live for that long then flipped to "do not support" is normally that Google deleted the listing for violations.

Occasionally and rarely "do not support" is a bug but most often "do not support" equals the new suspended. I've told Google numerous times they need to call a spade a spade and let people know when they violate instead of making it seem like an error.

Is this by chance a service area business with a home office location? If so, was address hidden? If not, that's the most common violation. Google has deleted hundreds of thousands of listings for that violation and I know mamy businesses that have been down for months and can't get back online.

If it's not a residential address, or some type of virual office or UPS address, then it's likely some other violation.

I'm a Google Top Contributor at the Google Local Forum and help folks with this problem all the time. But I'd need the core details from the dashboard to be able to tell you what's wrong and advise what to do. My own forum is so busy, I don't get over here much any more, but I'll try to check back this weekend to see if you need any more help.
