Does anyone know about an opt-in script similar to this?

Hello,

I want to further refine my subscribers and I am in the market for a script that enables the subscriber to select on which list to subscribe.

Here's an example:

Let's say you are in the car buying market (I just made that up) and there are 4 types of people:
  1. Interested in SUVs
  2. Interested in family cars
  3. Interested in sport cars
  4. Interested in hybrid cars

Ok, I know, some people might be interested in more than one of these categories, but let's presume they aren't.
I want them to enter their email address, select just one list (I think there should be used 'radio' buttons for this, if I'm not mistaking) so I can send them tailored advice and offers.

Is there something already available so I don't have to call in a script expert?

Thanks

I don't know if there's already an off-the-shelf solution but this is NOT difficult for a programmer to build. You can use, for example, the Aweber API to do this, or probably even without the API you can have some simple code around the form so that the radio button tells your form which list to subscribe people to.

Somebody on oDesk can probably take care of this very fast & with a low price.

How you execute this depends upon the autoresponder
    service or software you're using.

The easy way is to create an opt-in form with a drop-
down menu that allows people to choose their preferred
    area of interest.

In the background, each option on the radio button menu
is associated with a custom hidden field that then segments
    the subscriber by their interest.

For the software that I use, I'd keep people on the same
list but segment them by subject interest area, depending
    upon their drop-down selection.

If you're using a popular autoresponder service like AWeber,
then here's a link to a page that introduces how to segment
    within their system:

Subscriber Segmenting - Deliver targeted relevant emails (no affil.)

    I hope that helps you.

    Dedicated to mutual success,

Most people are idiots. You're going to lose potential leads at that step.

Better option: build a lander specific to each segment and drive matching traffic to each lander.

I have to agree on this one. Notice when people have a long squeeze page, it is all dedicated to answering any questions and eliminating prospects' doubts in their minds. Although people might not read them all / not necessarily the longest is the most efficient, I would say it is still better than having more than 1 area of interests. You will then focus on driving more targeted traffic to the site. It will be a lot easier too to manage your list in the future when you have more subscribers.

And here is the real deal, you can then promote all the other related products to your highly targeted list using auto responder in your follow up emails.

      Hope that helped

The quickest way to FAIL online: have no proven list building strategy, don't know how to grow their list fast, waste time NOT doing money-producing activities
