Trying to join NamePro

I decided that it was time to sell some of the domains I hold, and being brand new to domaining, I listed them on Sedo. Then a few weeks ago I read a thread on this forum about the same subject. Someone suggested the NamePro forum as being a good place to discuss, buy and sell domains.

I have attempted to join that forum twice but was rejected. The first time, I use a Gmail account, got knocked back, contacted the administrator, but still had no reply. I tried again today using my personal email address provided by my ISP and still I got knocked back.

Is the forum closed to noobs or do I need to be referred?

Cheers
Bill

That's a first I've heard of them rejecting people who want to register. I joined a long time ago, but haven't visited in a long time.

One thing you'd find there is that selling domains there isn't the greatest idea. They are resellers, so they don't want to pay very much for good domains. Cuts into their profits. It is/was a good place to learn domaining.

Been a member of that forum since 2008 and in the past few years, I seldom visit. Last month, I opened t controversial threads about domain appraisal being useless and until now it is hotly discussed. I have no idea about new members being rejected. If you join just to have your domain appraised, better not to post your domain their. Appraisal folder does not make sense any more. You'll get disappointed. Build sites around your domains, build traffic, and sell them...

The reason I am selling the domains is because I do not have the interest anymore in building the sites, but I know your advice is sound and good.

Also one of the domains is a 4 lettered girl's name with a TLD of .xxx - I'm not interested in making an adult site, just thought I could make money selling the domain.

Back to NamePro, still no reply from admin.

I'v had my sites listed and parked on Sedo for a good few weeks now and I'm beginning to think that doing what you suggest, Adie, then selling on Flippa would get better results.

The same thing was happening to me. The way I bypassed it was using an email from my domain (email@mydomainname.com) instead of a free one like hotmail. Hope that helps!
