Forum Software ideas needed

I'm looking for suggestions on Forum Software.

I would like one that allows html in the posts like the WF does.

I know there are some very good and expensive options out there.

I'd like some less expensive options if possible.

    All you have to do is pick a hosting. All of them have a feature called Fantastico that will allow you to install in one click a forum using different types of scripts like phpbb or smf. You can start with that and once your forum is profitable, you can upgrade for more custom options.

    If you don't have the money to invest into vBulletin then I recommend phpBB. There are many great forums that run under phpbb and are successful. And the best thing that it's free.

      What do you think PhpBB 2 or PhpBB 3? which would be better? I just need a second opinion.

        I haven't used it, but I think that phpbb v3 should have more features and should be updated more often to patch security holes.
