I am not educated in the ways of facebook and marketing at all really, but I know there is something that is going on under my nose that i am not aware of..probably really obvious but can someone please spell this out for me?

Someone posts in a group 'this girl is so damn sexy'..with a link, this link.

Lots of pics of this lady, with a bit of content. Many categories of beautiful women (and men apparently, I didnt check them out ).

Anyway, seemingly quite a bit of effort, but for what? I am assuming they are getting visitors and doing something with it, but what? Also they have 'click like' pop up..for what end?

This may be common practice and many marketeers are doing something here, but I cant see what?

Any thoughts?

    It's probably just one of a massive network of auto-blogs which runs ads, build lists, get facebook likes etc. in part to make money advertising but also for link building and social-proof.

    Some people build a lot of stuff like that just so that their other spamming techniques get lost in the mix for anyone (like Google) checking if they're doing anything dodgy.

    Just ignore it.

      I actually made a 'meme' last night and put a website address at the bottom in the hope of some viral free advertising, and was looking for groups to post it..that sort of made sense to me. But the site that i am talking about originally, well the effort and return for this effort I could just not see. Thanks for your input, I shall stop worrying that I am looking over something that has good potential.
