ClickBank Commissions???

Hi,

I am promoting a Clickbank product that says I'll earn a 75% commission. However, I am not.

Example 1: The product charges the customer $50. At 75%, I should earn $37.50. But instead, I am credited $32 per sale. $5.50 short.

Another thing: My $32 varies.

For example: Most of the time I earn $32.00, exactly. However, sometimes it's $32.04, $31.75, etc.

These are one time sales, not upsells.

If all customers are being charged the same fee, why does my commissions fluctuate? Also, what's up with earning a less percentage than the merchant states I'll earn?

Does this happen to any of you? Any ideas as to why this happens?

Appreciate all info. Thanks!

Maybe all are not being charged the same rate, coupons perhaps. Not sure though.

It doesn't work this way, Adam.

It is all clearly explained on ClickBank's site, to be fair.

If the product sells retail for $50, then ClickBank buys it from the vendor for $46.25. From that, a $1 stocking fee is deducted, leaving $45.25. The affiliate gets 75% of that, which is $33.94.

I'm not sure. I'm wondering whether international currency fluctuations might underly that, when people have paid in different currencies? That sounds like a question for ClickBank, or perhaps for Harvey.

Perhaps the vendor's wording leaves a little to be desired.

But your basic confusion is between the retail-to-wholesale price differential, and the stocking fee, I think. Bear in mind that ClickBank is actually a retailer, not just a payment processor.

      Lady Alexa,

Thanks, this explained the bigger part of the issue. I still can't figure out why the small fluctuations (US currencies are paid for all), but at least I now know I am not being paid $5+ less per sale. LOL

I can ignore the small fluctuations. Alexa, I appreciate you taking out the time to help me understand Clickbank better.

This is due to the sales tax imposed in certain US states.

In such cases ClickBank transaction fees are applied first to the total amount paid and the tax is then deducted from the remainder.

So the most you will get is $33.94 when no tax is applied.

However I can't see how it would drop as low as "$32.04, $31.75" and this seems very strange ==> "Most of the time I earn $32.00, exactly"

        .
