I've also seen a small decrease in my ebook sales but good grief, my adsense is going through the roof so I'm making up for it there.

Yes, been seeing a slowdown the past couple of months after doing very good at the end of last year. I'm doing some changes to my website soon and I expect things to pick up again.

The lesson is not to have all your marketing eggs in one basket.

A mix of ebooks, affiliate marketing, CPA, Adwords etc will mean that you are not going to fall over if one element suffers a sales drop.

Only a slowdown on Clickbank. Ebook sales have improved off of CB.

My Clickbank affiliate account has been horrible this week. Something seems very strange.

    Hi Beepers88:

Hope all ls well tonight. While the economies in many parts of the globe are not exactly luminous at the moment you can still reach your goals for E-Books, etc. Sometimes it may be an adjustment in material, bonuses, where you are marketing the product, price, keywords, etc.

You may have to put more time into the marketing but you can find a way! Don't overlook websites, forums, blogs, video sites, and social networking URL's. Are you building an Email list, are you seeing what the competition is up to?

    Be positive, explore and thrive!

Interesting points. I have read a few forums where they say they think something is up with clickbank as sales are down. Hard to say whether it is the current economic climate or clickbank are not doing the right thing for their affiliates

I don't think ebook sales will ever disappear. Books didn't disappear when movies and TV came around. Look at the interest in the Kindle.

Either the economy is taking its toll or tracking is screwed up. But something is screwed up, that's for sure.

Isn't it a school spring break? Or was that last week?

School holidays are just one "normal" event of many throughout the year that can and do reduce sales.

    Cheers,

I've been trying to tell myself that it's tax time and that's why sales are slower.

I've noticed a steady, but not sharp, decline in ebook sales over the last couple of years.
Mostly due to an increase in demand for audio and video products.

My guess is multimedia products will continue to eat into ebook sales but not totally eliminate them.

If the topic is of interest, people will buy it.

    Them's my thoughts...

Thanks for posting the graph ProductCreator.

I was particularly interested by the section from the 17th to the 23rd.

I've posted on here before that I often see a reduction around the 17th or 18th, it lasts for a few days and is usually followed by a big spike. I've never been able to work out why and no-one here could throw any light on it either.

Maybe it's just a co-incidence that your graph seems to show this, but it was interesting to me nonetheless.

    Cheers,

    One word ... volatile.

To be expected that it's gonna be a bumpy ride until things mellow nationally and internationally.

I'll make a prediction that the ride is *always* going to be somewhat bumpy.

New people reading this - if you're waiting for the ride to get less bumpy, take up flower arranging instead

I haven't sold ebooks but from what I have been seeing online a lot of people are selling video type courses now. This is probably the reason your ebook sales have slowed down
