sent email is marked as spam?? how to fix?

Hey Warriors,

So I manually harvest emails of real people from other sites and email a specific template out to these individuals using gmail. Generally my conversion rate has been 20% for years up until recently. Now I do not even get any replies. I am thinking it is because my sent emails get marked as spam and do not get inboxed.

I have never emailed the same person more than once. There is nothing wrong with my list of manually harvest emails, it is just that my gmail sent emails do not get inboxed anymore.

Is there any way to prevent this from happening? Or is there any free alternative to individually sending out emails and ensure that they get inboxed? Sending them from an email under my domain name eg. exampleemail(at)mydomainname(dot)com through my hosting provider? What are your thoughts??

Aweber is not an option from my understanding because these individuals never opted into my emails. What I send is basically a request for the individuals to be involved in my website. What are your thoughts?

Thanks,
-RavenX

If you are sending the same email out over and over then it won't be long before certain email providers pick up on that and block your emails. That's what has happened to you. Your domain or IP is probably blacklisted. The only way to get around that is to get a new domain or IP and stop emailing the same thing to people over and over. Look at it from the point of view of the email providers. If some person kept on emailing the same email out to a bunch of different people everyday, you'd think they were a spammer also, wouldn't you? I sure would.

It doesn't matter if you are technically spamming people or not. Your actions are mirroring those of spammers and thus your emails will get blocked.

    Haha.

It seems like your email list isn't opt-in.

I've been in the e-mail game for a long, long time. (too long. for 900 years have I taught jedi)

Now adays, you ABSOLUTELY MUST OBLIGE to opt-in subscriptions.

    Just stop man!

Instead of doing what you're doing, learn how to build an opt-in list.

It takes work, but it will pay for itself, and if you start now, you'll thank me later.

Emailing people who have not opted in to a list IS perfectly legal provided you follow the 3 requirements of the Can Spam Act.

      Unsubscribe compliance
      • A visible and operable unsubscribe mechanism is present in all emails.
      • Consumer opt-out requests are honored within 10 days.
      • Opt-out lists also known as Suppression lists are only used for compliance purposes.

      Content compliance
      • Accurate from lines (including "friendly froms")
      • Relevant subject lines (relative to offer in body content and not deceptive)
      • A legitimate physical address of the publisher and/or advertiser is present.
      • A label is present if the content is adult.

      Sending behavior compliance
      • A message cannot be sent through an open relay
      • A message cannot be sent to a harvested email address
      • A message cannot contain a false header

      Do note this requirement though:

A message cannot be sent to a harvested email address.

And so many do not know this. I will say though harvesting is the best part. To comply I pay someone else to harvest and get the list from them lol.

You definitely need an opt-in list.

Honestly, if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, most are going to assume it's a duck! Even if spamming is not what you intend, it sure will appear that way.
