Spam from e-mail list?

Hi,

I just want to make sure I do the right thing in the beginning so I posted this question here to get some feedback.

If someone gives you an email list (e.g., saved in XL format) which has say 100s email addresses. You then import them into your auto responder account (e.g. AWeber or Imnica Mail).

Is this a legit way of promoting your product via the email list that you got from someone? Any consequence of doing this type of method?

Appreciate your feedback.

I personally do not trust lists that come from another source.. the emails in there probably won't even be opt-in and most likely you will be considered as a spammer ... on the other hand, you can tryout some of the emails in there and see the result of your campaign

The email list is legit...gathered from businesses over the years. They can always unsubscribed right?

You don't: they won't allow it.

    Thankfully.

The day they do allow that is the day I'll be looking for another autoresponder company that doesn't allow it, because the deliverability of my own emails to my own subscribers will obviously decline.

Yes. Very adverse ones. This very recent post from a moderator may interest you: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7022378

They can "report spam", as well.

And that can lose you your internet connection, domain-names, hosting accounts and cause you other problems, too.
