My number one need/concern was getting enough money to pay for a year of hosting, a domain name, and a elanced website. That's a clean $400 that I just didn't have, and it took me WAY to long to make it.

I think my # problem/complaint is total information overload! Information packets are often 100s of pages long, and you have to read through everything to pick out just a few "nuggets" of info. Then there is the sorting through all the info for the good stuff, since just b/c someone wrote an ebook doesn't automatically mean it is quality material. Often information is also in the "general" category, while newbies need exact action steps. EXACTLY, step-by-step what to do, what to use, how to use these things, and when (a PRACTICAL time line).

I agree with information overload, on top of this i have no webmaster skills whatsoever.

I have dealt with the information overload problem by writing a business plan for myself, and being determined to stick to it without looking at every new guru offer that comes along (i much prefer the WSO offers).

As for the lack of web skills, this has been and still is a pain. But i have just started to outsource the work, which was never budgeted for but with my lack of web building and SE optimising skils, it is 100% necesary for me if i am serious about building an online career!

Good luck with your new project!

    Cheers

    Paul

My number one problem is picking a niche I have no idea's. The niche's that I do have a lot of knowledge in are top niche's and only the guru's can rank well in those niche's. I could choose a product off of clickbank I guess but I hate to spend money to find out that the product stinks.

I think some of the things newbies face is once they find an offer to promote or product to sell. Then they have to learn so many ways to get traffic.Blogging, ppc, article marketing, video marketing, etc. That can be very frustrating.

I know my biggest problem as a newbie was an imbalance between enthusiasm and follow through... I got so excited, read and studied the product I was focusing on, and started to work it out...

... then oh.. my... GOD! THIS is the biggest thing EVER! If I could syphon even a TINY bit of this market... read and studied the product, started at executing the steps, but...

... OMG! THIS is the most obvious, simple way to make money EVER! I can't believe I didn't think of it myself! read and studied...

One day I realized I had a bunch of started projects, and no income (lol)

On the other hand, I almost think that this phase is important for a newbie in some ways. This jumping jumping jumping taught me a lot about a lot of different areas and options. Products began overlapping in areas, and one day I could clearly see the big picture. In effect, each "OMG/NoFollowThrough" gave me a piece of the puzzle - after awhile connecting pieces, I got a good look at the big picture which allowed me to understand how to better focus on one thing, and all of the many subtasks therein.

As a newbie myself the main problems that I am facing are:

    - getting a clear idea of the various business models that prove successful online
    - understanding how to identify profitable and long term niches
    - understanding straightforward traffic generation
    - finding suitable step-by-step blueprints that newbies can follow
    - knowing what questions to ask to get the most out of this wonderful forum.
    - knowing how to find a suitable mentor without it costing an arm and a leg

    Hope this helps

    As a newbie,

I find that there are too much information on where and how to start. Moreover, with the immensely fast progress in technology and tools, materials you read will be outdated in a few months. There seem to be a lot of controversy over the tools to use for Internet Marketing, Eg. if you read about Clickbank etc. in the forum.

If there's a clear step by step system where you can monitor your progress, that will be great.

    1. Disappointed after so many hours of reading and application but without a single sale!

    2. Lack of motivation to continue doing the tasks I need to do after many zeros days.
