Looking for some advice on this Idea.

So yes I'm looking for some advice on ways I can earn some extra money on the side. Nothing big a few dollars a day or pennies are fine. I currently run a minecraft server that pays my bussiness class cable internet and brings in a few extra bucks a month but honestly I only play this game for that reason only. But for anyone interested in that idea I can not lie if its something you are interested in it definatly is an easy way of making money if you dont mind playing the game. To keep a server running it does require you to log on and keep a few things in balance but its definatly profitable, but do note don't be afreaid to shut a server down to start a new one if you feel its not working out I myself have had to do this when trying to expand I do have more then one.

I do not have much free time on my hands I'm currently in the military and just looking for a not so time consuming way of bulking up that savings, I have a piggy bank with over 600$ I've been keeping all my change and ones in over the past 2 years I'm the kind of guy who only spends larger bills but I save the rest. Something I've thought about but never spent the time to actually do is messing around with an online computer bussiness for example some things I've thought of is promoting items on ebay for prices above what I can find them on other sites and basically working as a middle man selling computers or computer parts or building computers myself with above parts and selling those, I do have an IT degree and could build a website of my own quite easily however I do like creativity skills. My sites tend to be somewhat bland. I've spent some time messing with that idea but never published any sites for fear of it not working or taking too much time to upkeep hence why I've thought about working around the ebay idea.

I'm not sure if aanyone here has tried such a thing or not, if so please let me know how it worked out for you. Most of my time online is over the weekends I'm afraid my presence may be requested more then I can give and because of my lack of time I'm afraid such a task may fail. Can anyone give me an idea on how much time may be neede for a task such as either of these basically running an online bussiness? I feel many people are in need of computers I know probably most of the people on this site have multiple I personally have two labtops and three desktops, but I build my own obviously (much cheaper)

I build computers, and I've sold computer parts. Selling parts on ebay isn't going to bring you a profit, and in fact you could end up with parts that don't sell even for what you paid for them. Ebay is dirt cheap when it comes to pc parts, and competition is fierce, to say the least. Not the direction I'd go in, especially if you don't have much time.

My thoughts, and bear in mind that I'm new to the WF but I have done my share of making money online through ecommerce sites: If you can build computers, you can teach people to build computers. After all, those of us that have done it know it isn't really all that hard. So build/buy a website, do a step-by-step tutorial on building a computer, and SEO the site. Now, before you go and start writing, sign up for TigerDirect's affiliate program, and while you're doing your tutorial start throwing links to good products on TD. For each category, post 4-5 different parts (i.e. 4-5 motherboards, 4-5 processors, 4-5 cases, you get the idea), all of them hyperlinked with your referral I.D.

Convince people that TD is the best place to buy the parts, make sure your page is getting traffic, and you'll make affiliate sales. True, with TD you're only getting 10% of the price as your affiliate fee, but 10% of a $200 motherboard is $20. On top of that, you can throw Adsense or another ad program on your page and make some income there, as well.

Admittedly, this is a down-and-dirty, quick post of an idea that I think would work, and I may be off the mark, but if I were in your situation it's probably what I would try to do. Your initial setup would be a bit time-consuming, but after that you could coast along with a bi-weekly product review (again with affiliate id hyperlinks) until the next technology sweep, when you do the whole thing over again.

As an afterthought, you could probably get some traffic to the site by hitting the gaming sites and replying to posts asking about "where should I get my next computer" or similar.

Thanks for the reply I like the Idea. TD is my faorite computer site to order off of and is where I've bought all of my pieces. I'll definatly have to do a bit of planning initially but I feel like your idea can do quit well. Especially if i'm advertising on gaming forums. In my oppinion I feel these are the bulk of computer sales, me being a gamer myself I know they are always buying or upgrading.

Thanks again for the advice ++

No worries, I'm a gamer as well, when I have time, and I can't count the number of gamer friends I've had to steer in the right direction on computer parts. If I'd been smart, I'd have been signed up for the affiliate program a long time ago and making money off of my free advice...
