How do you approach affiliates and get them to promote your product

Hey Warriors,

I have a product in a really unique, but untapped niche of how to make friends, overcome shyness, and build and improve relationships (independent of dating, romance, etc.).

The marketing is very strong and converts extremely well (every inch of my marketing formula is carefully designed), and my programs have an extremely low refund rate (and get a ton of great reviews from users).

I've got a system to follow up an initial eBook for $44 with a $229 audio program, and recurring $150 personal one-on-one coaching; so every visitor is converted (and helped) as much as possible... and I give 50% of any revenues to my affiliates.

The problem is finding affiliates to promote my product.

What I do is I'll write them an email, tell them about my products/niche a little bit, how it would benefit them and there customers, how the profit potential is excellent, and give them a link to my affiliate page to see if they're interested.

What happens most of them don't even bother replying, but no matter how hard I try, I can't figure out for the life of me what I'm doing wrong or missing.

I'd really appreciate some advice/tips from my fellow warriors on this... how would/do you approach affiliates in these situations... or do you have any advice/experience in this situation?

My marketing (and programs) are extremely well researched, targeted, and focused to the major universal problems people in my niche are looking to solve, but aren't finding answers to, so the information and materials are extremely relevant and useful to my visitors... the problem is building relationships to bring in more visitors.

Customers have told me how they love my programs, how great they are, and how much my work has changed their lives, and as far as I know my marketing is extremely well executed and solid, and I offer a lucrative affiliate opportunity (lots of money for every single potential visitor sent), yet somehow I can't get affiliates interested in promoting my program, and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, or what my approach is missing.

Thanks in advance for all your help and wonderful answers... I really appreciate it!

- Chris

popularitysecrets.com/Articles.zip - this is the selection of articles I offer prospective JV partners.

In one I also took a testimonial from a user of my programs which sounds like 95% of the other people who purchase my programs and used it for relatablity.

I tried to pick the most universally applicable information which included the easiest-to-use tips that would give readers the best, quickest results so they would be enticed to learn more, and in general the formula works extremely well with the traffic and users I do get; the problem is getting more people into my "funnel".

You have to prove that your converting and show some results.. Thats what will attract JV Partners. What is the EPC

I tell this people all the time when they worry about getting affiliates. Most of the times getting Affiliates is over rated.

I ask them well how much is your product.
    They will say $50 ..
Then how much split is the affiliate.. Then they say 50/50 ..

So you need to spend $25 worth of advertising to get 1 customer and you will still profit $25. Not too bad when you put it in that perspective. Technically you can spend $49.99 per customer acquisition and still make a profit.

Some will say that affiliate traffic is free. I tend to disagree because your are actually paying $25 for every sale they bring. It's just as easy to spend $25 per join in advertising

    Hi Chris,

There is a lot to be learned about approaching affiliates and you can always become better at it. I suggest you check out the community at: jvnotifypro.com. There is a lot of teaching, interaction and opportunities to recruit.

  • Hi Chris,

Focusing on a specific segment of your mailing list members and viewers (particularly those who can write content and need additional income), then offfering them something else like what I mentioned in the thread below wouldn't be bad to test out...

Are You a Product Developer or a Content Writer? Try This ---[/URL]

I've studied every one of Eben Pagan's programs intensively, so I know the content writing and marketing side of things inside and out, and how to build a sales funnel once a visitor arrives at my website.

The problem isn't really with my content, or marketing formula (those work very well converting based on the traffic I receive).

The problem I'm having is that my affiliate emails go unanswered before people even take a look at my website, and I'm trying to figure out what I need to change in my approach to potential affiliates and JV partners... because I feel like I've tried everything, but another part of me is relentless, and won't stop looking until I "crack the code" to making this work.

      • Chris, I wasn't referring to your onsite and offsite content nor to your marketing campaigns, nothing like that. What I said was for you to take a closer look at an alternative strategy for getting affiliates, which I outlined in the thread I linked above...

Hi i had this problem for a long time and now know the cure, you have to use a laser scalpel approach to each potential JV .Its all about whats in it for them, they dont care about the commission. If you have a pre existing relashionship before you ask, the chances dramatically increase. Remember some JV's are getting 25 + requests a day.If you tailor your approach to their business and their pain points, they will say YES.This works very well for me at the moment.
to sum up (% commission + laser scalpel ) offer to them = JV promotion for you

Reciprocate. Get to know them. When you have a product that's really good, there are always people dieing to promote it. So, create that magic bullet product and you will attract affiliates on its own.

If you build it (and it converts) they will come.

That's the main benefit of clickbank.

Throw a few products up, and you'll automatically have an array of hungry affiliates promoting it.

If it converts, you can sit back and enjoy.

If not, you're kinda screwed either way.

Also, if you have a list of internet marketers, send your product to your list, and let them know you'll offer a better commission on it.

I would start getting involved in social media and making connections with potential affiliates.

Comment on their blogs and videos, Retweet their content, Like them on Facebook, and etc. But most importantly, build relationships with them.

Once they know who you are, they will be more willing to become an affiliate. It takes time, yes, but you can get great results especially if those potential affiliates have good sized lists and social media followers.

How well is your site/sales letter converting? What are your stats/sales? Affiliates look for this information and will mostly ignore products/sites, that do not give this information.

If you are looking for affiliates/JVs, simply go where they hangout. Do a favor for them and benefit them in some way and they will rub your back too...

You could personally email them. Add to Clickbank or Paydotcom. Submit your affiliate sign up page to affiliate directories. Advertise your affilaite program on Clickbank. Send a review copy to those that you email personally. Also have a good proposal letter.
